Our Shelter is open only by appointment. Please fill out an adoption/foster application before asking for a visit.

The Dolly Goodpuppy Society™ is a licensed, non-profit, all-breed canine rescue in Barnesville, Georgia committed to rescuing, vetting, and finding loving homes for well-deserving dogs who may otherwise not get a second chance. We have limitations on the number of people per day and a very limited staff. Please have patience with us as we care for the dogs' daily routines and schedule visits accordingly.

This is Willoughby and he cam to us heartworm positive. We put him on the slow kill, which has always worked in the past. Recently he went in for his annual check and was still positive. It was time for a more aggressive treatment. He received the injections, and we have a vet bill over a $1000. The treatment isn’t cheap, but in this case necessary. We have 3 females in need of spay and several puppies,still too young for spay/neuter, but will need to be done too. Also we just had eleven dogs updated on rabies and heartworm tests. We could really use donations right now to help with these expenses. Please donate if you can.

Adoptable Dog: Asher

This fine fellow has been with Dolly far too long and he needs a family. Asher is about 7 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. He is very people friendly and will get along with some other dogs, but he is a tad choosy about his canine friends. Asher is house broken, walks well on leash, and loves to play fetch and chase a flirt poke. He is super smart and will require an experienced dog handler. Put in an application and schedule a meet and greet.

Adoptable Dog: Jinx

This little fellow is about 10 pounds, about 1.5 years old, fully vetted, and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Jinx is happy, energetic, and affectionate. He walks well on leash, gets along with other dogs, and never meets a stranger.

Adoptable Dog: Hazel

This sweet lady is a treasure. She is about 58 pounds, fully vetted, microchipped, and on monthly heart worm and flea prevention.
Hazel came to us in 2022 and was pregnant. She and her litter were fostered by one of our amazing volunteers. Her pups have long since been adopted and dear Hazel still awaits her forever home .
Though she’s a bit overweight, she is very athletic and needs to be more active. She can be escape a 6 foot fence. And yes, by going over top and she loves nothing better than a long game of fetch.
Hazel is also affectionate and has never been aggressive. With that said, she can be a bit fractious with other dogs. She does not start trouble, but is quick to defend herself.
This lady will be a perfect companion for the right person or family. Put in an application and come meet her. 😊

We haven’t done $5 Friday in a long time, but next week we have 8 to 10 dogs due their vaccination, so we are having the vet come out. We could use some donations to help out with this expense.
