Lamar County 4-H - UGA Extension 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults.

What is 4‑H? 4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. We're hiring! Do you want to make a difference in the life of a young person while gaining skills and professional experience?

Lamar County Extension is accepting applications for a half-time (20 hours/week) AmeriCorps State member to deliver 4-H programming to youth. Members serve for a year (September 1 - August 31), receive a modest living allowance ($1037.50 before taxes), and earn an education award ($3,697.50) upon successful completion of the required hours (900). Other benefits include loan forbearance.

If you are a registered 4-H’er in the Lamar County 4-H Program in grades 4-12, you may want to enter 4-H contests at the Georgia National Fair for cash prizes and ribbons! There are so many contests you can enter:

Pumpkin spice and everything nice! 🎃 It's time to get creative and enter the 6th Annual Barnesville-Lamar County Library and Lamar County 4-H "No-Carve Pumpkin Decorating Contest"!
