Saturday, October 3: we’re cutting the ribbon on The Sacred Place at Matriarch Park. We want to celebrate this milestone for West Baltimore with you!

Together with Parity, EnviroCollab, and Nature Sacred, we have transformed a once-vacant lot in Harlem Park into a community green space. Support a greener healthier, Baltimore by showing up and helping us plant a tree together and build the hotels and bird houses to put up in the park.

Baltimore is demonstrating what’s possible when a city makes high-quality playspaces a priority. This session shares the inside story of how Baltimore aligned data, capital planning and community voice to drive systemwide investment at unprecedented speed.

Presenters will break down the partnership model, governance structure, framework, community engagement practices and fundraising efforts that guided the work.

This collaboration brings together Baltimore partners Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, Parks and People, Baltimore City Public Schools and KABOOM for a panel on the power of play and partnerships.

✨ What a night.

Chelsey Green and The Green Project Dr. Chelsey Green completely captivated us with their performance. Between their music floating through 9-acres of green space, celebrating our incredible awardees, and catching up with friends old and new, Picnic in the Park 2026 became one of those special Baltimore moments.

It was full of joy, connection, and wonder that is found in harmony with nature and our neighbors.

Thanks to this amazing community, we reached our fundraising goal! Your support helps create more opportunities for Baltimore’s children and families to play, learn, and connect with nature.

Thank you for showing up, celebrating with us, and making the evening so special.

The wait is over! We can’t wait to see Chelsey Green Dr. Chelsey Green and The Green Project perform tonight at Picnic in the Park 2026

Arrival & Parking: Free parking is available for all ticketed guests. Free valet will be available for VIP ticket holders. Please have your email ticket confirmation ready to show. Cars and rideshares should enter from the front entrance at 2100 Liberty Heights Avenue—there is no public parking in the Reisterstown Road lower lot.

Event: Eat, drink, and enjoy the music. Don’t forget to take part in the art experience presented by Creative Nomads. The event starts at 6:00pm. A short program will be held at 6:30pm. Afterward, enjoy the performance by Chelsey Green and The Green Project!

Program: During a brief formal program, Parks & People will recognize three honorees whose leadership and service reflect the organization’s commitment to people, parks, equity, and community: Barbara Shapiro will receive the Sally J. Michel Award, Steve Ziger will receive the Jonna Lazarus Parks Award, and The University of Maryland School of Medicine will receive the Eddie C. and C. Sylvia Brown People Award. Food and beverage: Food and beverage are included in the price of your ticket. Visit one of the vendors to simply order and enjoy. Guests can enjoy offerings from Full Circle Boards, The Empanada Lady, Black Baltimore Vegan, Stursi Mocktail Bar, Yumi Teriyaki Grill, and Chase It Bartenders.

VIP Guests: Enjoy access to our private VIP Garden, featuring a private bar and premium catering throughout the evening.
