This weekend marks an end and a beginning.

The end of the High Holy Day season — some call it the Tishrei (Hebrew month) marathon — and the beginning of a new cycle of learning, discovery and conversation marked by the holiday of Simchat Torah.

On both Shabbat and Simchat Torah, it is customary to celebrate in community, share in joyful song and music, tell the stories of our ancestors and reach for new meaning in the times we are living through right now.

However you celebrate (or don’t), we wish you meaning, joy and maybe even a little dancing!

And a special thank you to Kedmah for bringing so much joy and energy in to our sanctuary this week!

Last night, our Building Bridges cohort gathered around the table for a potluck dinner in the sukkah—and it was one of those evenings that reminded us what this work is all about.

Good food. Meaningful conversation. Lots of laughter. And the simple but powerful experience of being together.

Building Bridges is rooted in learning, listening, and building relationships across our different identities and experiences. Last night, under the sukkah, those relationships just got a little deeper.

This is how we build community—one conversation, one connection, and sometimes one very full potluck table at a time.
