We hope Week Without Driving was an eye-opener for the ways our transportation systems can hold people back from fully participating in community life. Whether that means limiting job opportunities, decreasing access to healthcare, or creating educational barriers, WE HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Are you voting by mail this election?

Make sure your ballot is postmarked – not just mailed – by November 3rd!

To make sure your vote is counted you can:
– drop your ballot off in a secure dropbox
– mail your ballot back at least a week before election day
– drop your ballot off at your polling location on election day
– bring your ballot into the post office and ask them to postmark it

"The agency is also facing a lawsuit by Disability Rights
Maryland over the same issue. Luciene Parsley, litigation counsel at the nonprofit argued the department needs to do more to help people avoid criminal charges in the first place
by investing in mobile crisis response and crisis-stabilization
services."

Maryland is scheduled to approve a six-figure payment after the Department of Health failed to provide prompt psychiatric care to criminal defendants, an ongoing issue that has racked up a cost of $4.7 million.

We are people with disabilities, young people, seniors and people who can’t afford cars or gas.

Week Without Driving was created so that those who have the option to drive can learn firsthand about the barriers and challenges that nondrivers face. Together, we can create communities that include all of us.
