Food brings people together. It gives us a reason to sit down, stay a while, talk, remember, laugh, and share what we know. Watershed Stewards Academy WOCO Hike & Sound Healing Morgan State University

On June 27, 2026, Filbert Street Garden will host a community workshop using the spirit of the crab as a reminder that our waters, food traditions, health, and climate futures are deeply connected. This gathering will create space for climate conversation rooted in everyday life across Brooklyn Park, Curtis Bay, North Anne Arundel, and South Baltimore.

Together, we will talk about heat — the kind felt while walking across pavement, waiting at bus stops, working outside, tending gardens, or living in homes without enough cooling. In neighborhoods with less tree canopy, more concrete, and fewer shaded green spaces, heat is not experienced equally.

Join us as we connect food, climate, community data, environmental justice, and collective care.

Words can't explain how thankful we are for everything Melku has done for the garden and our community. His hard work, dedication, and heart have helped make Filbert Street Garden a place where people can come together, learn, grow, and thrive.
We also want to honor the memory of our beloved Bri. Her spirit, love, and commitment to the community continue to inspire us every day. May she rest in peace. 💚
A special thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who continually show up to support our pantry. Because of your generosity, our shelves are filled not only with food, but with love, compassion, and hope. Every donation, every hour volunteered, and every act of kindness helps strengthen our community.
