We were selected to host a Day of Service for UUA's annual meeting this year, so we decided to make it into a neighborhood cleanup! Come out and meet some neighbors, learn more about SBCLT's work, and help clear our sidewalks and alleys of trash.

🌱💪 VICTORY for clean energy in Maryland!

After more than a decade of campaigning by groups fighting trash incinerators, Maryland has finally removed trash incineration from its Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS). This means the state will no longer subsidize companies that burn trash for electricity under its premier climate program.

Thank you to the grassroots organizations which led the legislative effort to remove incineration from the RPS! South Baltimore Community Land Trust, Clean Water Action, Progressive Maryland, Food & Water Watch, Coal-Free Curtis Bay, Sugarloaf Citizens Association

This is a powerful win for public health, environmental justice, and a cleaner, greener Maryland. Let’s keep pushing for real climate solutions.
