Thread Relationships. Woven Strong.® At the heart of our community are young people, exceptional individuals in extraordinary situations.

Thread makes a ten-year commitment to them, beginning in 9th grade. Our young people are paired with family member volunteers who commit for one year and work together as a team to support them as they work towards self-sufficiency. Everyone in Thread has a coach who consistently “has your back,” and supports your personal journey. We know that enduring, authentic relationships change lives. Together, we are weaving The New Social Fabric ®.

Congratulations to Thread Resources and Opportunities Manager Fernanda Rodriguez on receiving a Community Champion Award from the Latino Providers Network MD. as part of their Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! She was also recognized by the City of Baltimore for her work both in and outside of Thread, supporting the Hispanic community in our city.

Fernanda is part of our team at Patterson High School, and the rest of her teammates showed up to celebrate her as well. Thread is lucky to have such awesome community builders on staff!

Thread Family Crystal, Sophia, and Deasia headed over to Chili's Grill & Bar to celebrate Deasia's recent graduation and new job! This is a great example of the kind of activities that Thread Family's do together - celebrate wins, work through barriers, and create meaningful connections.

This summer, Patterson volunteer Justin offered sailing lessons to Thread young people! Pictured is young person Dontay, who got a chance to captain the boat for a bit on a particularly nice day. Have you ever been sailing in the Baltimore harbor?⛵
