This past Sunday, students from this year’s Baltimore Youth Arts Advocacy Council (BYAAC) cohort hosted an inspiring Youth Art Market at Baltimore Unity Hall. Entirely conceived, planned, and led by students, the event showcased the creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit of Baltimore’s youth. From coordinating logistics and outreach to participating as vendors themselves, students worked collaboratively to bring the market to life.

The event featured 17 youth art vendors representing 8 Baltimore City Public Schools, all displaying and selling original artwork, including prints, clothing, paintings, handmade jewelry, bath and body products, illustrations, crochet pieces, and more. The market also included an Open Mic where teens shared original music and spoken word performances, creating a vibrant celebration of youth voice, creativity, and community.

This was the last event of the school year for this year’s BYAAC cohort. We are so proud of all they accomplished this year and wish them a wonderful summer break and beyond!

Arts Every Day was excited to attend long time Partner School Curtis Bay Elementary’s ribbon cutting celebration for their new mural, “No One Eats Alone,” created by students in collaboration with artist Jay Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen. We are thrilled to have supported this project alongside MSAC and are so grateful for continued partnership with this amazing school! We want to share a special thanks to Curtis Bay’s incredible art teacher, Ms. Hofmann, who brought this beautiful event together and consistently exemplifies the arts’ power to spread joy and build community.
