This past Sunday, students from this year’s Baltimore Youth Arts Advocacy Council (BYAAC) cohort hosted an inspiring Youth Art Market at Baltimore Unity Hall. Entirely conceived, planned, and led by students, the event showcased the creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit of Baltimore’s youth. From coordinating logistics and outreach to participating as vendors themselves, students worked collaboratively to bring the market to life.
The event featured 17 youth art vendors representing 8 Baltimore City Public Schools, all displaying and selling original artwork, including prints, clothing, paintings, handmade jewelry, bath and body products, illustrations, crochet pieces, and more. The market also included an Open Mic where teens shared original music and spoken word performances, creating a vibrant celebration of youth voice, creativity, and community.
This was the last event of the school year for this year’s BYAAC cohort. We are so proud of all they accomplished this year and wish them a wonderful summer break and beyond!
