For the last six years some of our most exciting moments have come from our Artist-in-Residence program with stars like Grisha, Pepe Romero, and Clarice Assad.

This year we’ve planned something totally new and unique, and it all starts next Wednesday and Thursday with two thrilling concerts.

Four rising stars in the guitar world, Thatcher Harrison, David Manzanares, Leonela Alejandro, and composer and ACG Alum Besa Carney, are collaborating closely with each other and members of our community all year long to create something spectacular later this season.

You can see them next week at Captain Quackenbush’s in South Austin on October 14 or at The Rosette on October 15 at 7pm. Thatcher will share a performance blending classical, jazz and his own brand of Americana. He’ll then be joined by David & Leonela as they’ll premiere a deep and evocative new work by Besa!

Jorge Caballero celebrated 22 years of friendship with us at The Rosette this past weekend with an insane program of three unique concerts! And we live-streamed each one!

Each performance contains a different program. While the first half of each show will be the same, they will each end with a different monumental mastwork:

Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Liszt’s B minor Piano Sonata, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

In addition, Jorge premiered a major new ACG-commissioned work by Austin-based composer Matthew Lyons and celebrated our long friendship with a special opening duet with Matt Hinsley!

Jorge Caballero returns to Austin this week to share his mastery with our community in three unique concerts on October 3-4!

Each performance will contain a different program, making all three Live at The Rosette shows a unique experience. While the first half of each show will be the same, they will each end with a different monumental mastwork:

When The Adventures of Prince Achmed premiered in 1926, it was hailed as a technical marvel. A century later, it remains one of the great classics of animation.

Adapted from The Arabian Nights, this gorgeous silent film tells the story of a prince who flies off on a magic horse to tussle with an evil sorcerer, rescue a princess, and join forces with Aladdin.

To celebrate the centennial of this animated classic, we’ve commissioned a new score from Turkish guitarist and composer Celil Refik Kaya, with Amanda Kaya on guitar and viola.

Join us to experience Lotte Reiniger’s hand-cut silhouettes brought to life with a riveting new score on October 24 & 25 at The Rosette!

Our 36th season, Friendship, opens with the sensational guitarist and ACG’s long-time friend, Ana Vidovic!

There are a few chances to see her perform this month.

On Thursday, September 17, Ana will perform for a small audience at the breathtaking home of Jeff and Gail Kodosky for First Night, our season benefit concert. The evening begins at 6pm and includes dinner, drinks, and desserts. Tickets are $1,000, and proceeds help make ACG services possible. This Sunday, August 30th at 12pm, piano superstar Anton Nel will inaugurate our newly-acquired 1929 Steinway Model B seven-foot grand piano, donated to ACG by Dr. Michael Foehls, with a special one-hour recital in support of our Rosette Community Fund.

Anton is an astounding musician and we can’t wait to hear the beauty he creates with the rich, warm tone and remarkable dynamic control prized in Golden Era Steinways from the 1920s.

We’re also offering a casual brunch with coffee, mimosas, and delicious brunch bites in The Rosette just before we’re blown away by Anton's music making.

The Rosette Community Fund supports our dream of The Rosette serving as a hub for Austin’s creative community.

Producing shows on stage requires support for most artists and nonprofits. This past year, for example, we supported about 100 community concerts and classes outside of ACG programming with just over $50,000 worth of rental and technical assistance.

Big thanks to an anonymous donor all the way from Philadelphia, all gifts made in support of this event will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

For our 36th Season, Friendship, we asked some of our very best friends in the world like Ana Vidovic, Jorge Caballero, Xuefei Yang, and David Russell, to come visit us and share their enormous talents, and today we’re opening up tickets for each individual show.

Our 6-concert Live at The Rosette series opens with Ana at The Rosette and continues with a star-studded cast of some of our dearest friends including Jorge Caballero, Xuefei Yang, and David Russell.

Our ACG Originals series of four concerts includes a new original score for the world’s first animated feature film The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1915) by husband and wife duo, Amanda and Celil Refik Kaya, a beautiful film-inspired collaboration with Austin Chamber Music Center, a deep musical celebration of friendship with our very own Matt Hinsley, and an incredible performance of Joe Williams’ monumental original score for Alfred Hitchcock’s The Lodger (1927) featuring Bion Tsang and the Great Necks Guitar Trio.
