This Sunday, August 30th at 12pm, piano superstar Anton Nel will inaugurate our newly-acquired 1929 Steinway Model B seven-foot grand piano, donated to ACG by Dr. Michael Foehls, with a special one-hour recital in support of our Rosette Community Fund.

Anton is an astounding musician and we can’t wait to hear the beauty he creates with the rich, warm tone and remarkable dynamic control prized in Golden Era Steinways from the 1920s.

We’re also offering a casual brunch with coffee, mimosas, and delicious brunch bites in The Rosette just before we’re blown away by Anton's music making.

The Rosette Community Fund supports our dream of The Rosette serving as a hub for Austin’s creative community.

Producing shows on stage requires support for most artists and nonprofits. This past year, for example, we supported about 100 community concerts and classes outside of ACG programming with just over $50,000 worth of rental and technical assistance.

Big thanks to an anonymous donor all the way from Philadelphia, all gifts made in support of this event will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

For our 36th Season, Friendship, we asked some of our very best friends in the world like Ana Vidovic, Jorge Caballero, Xuefei Yang, and David Russell, to come visit us and share their enormous talents, and today we’re opening up tickets for each individual show.

These concerts will all sell out! Remember, The Rosette is a wonderfully intimate venue, so we encourage you to get your tickets soon.

Our 6-concert Live at The Rosette series opens with Ana at The Rosette and continues with a star-studded cast of some of our dearest friends including Jorge Caballero, Xuefei Yang, and David Russell.

Our ACG Originals series of four concerts includes a new original score for the world’s first animated feature film The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1915) by husband and wife duo, Amanda and Celil Refik Kaya, a beautiful film-inspired collaboration with Austin Chamber Music Center, a deep musical celebration of friendship with our very own Matt Hinsley, and an incredible performance of Joe Williams’ monumental original score for Alfred Hitchcock’s The Lodger (1927) featuring Bion Tsang and the Great Necks Guitar Trio.

We’re beyond excited to share the first amazing installment of a new collection of flamenco pieces for your classroom by Grisha, one of the greatest living flamenco guitarists.

This first selection, Sevillanas in C, is available in trio format for your classes, as well as in a solo version for any students who get so inspired that they just have to play it themselves.

Just log in, navigate to the music library, and search for Grisha - or choose the new ‘Flamenco’ level.

Grisha even made tutorial videos! For Sevillanas in C alone there are an astonishing fifteen tutorial videos covering a wide range of flamenco techniques, so your students can learn from the master himself.

Before the kiddos head back to school, bring them to the museum for storytime, dancing, live music, and more. And because we know you're a kid at heart, too, we've got plenty of events for all ages.

📚 August 4 & 11 at 10:30 am & 10:45 am: Summer Storytime featuring guided picture book readings paired with artworks (best for ages 4–8). Tuesdays are free admission!

🤠 August 8, 10 am–8 pm: Blanton All Day: the Two-Step Edition (now plus Tango!) with dance lessons from Double or Nothing Two-Step and Esquina Tango and live music by Sentimental Family Band and Hora Once.

🎤 August 8, 3 pm: Art with an Expert talk with Javier Hernandez, artist and creator of the popular comic series "El Mu**to: The Aztec Zombie." Included with Blanton All Day admission.

When we created The Rosette, we dreamed that it would not only be a home for ACG, but also serve as a hub for our creative community. We’re overjoyed that nowadays a range of creatives from filmmakers and musicians to photographers and dancers are breathing life into the space with their art.

We need to tell you about the piano! This beautiful new instrument was generously donated to ACG by Dr. Michael Froehls. It has the rich, warm tone and remarkable dynamic control prized in Golden Era Steinways from the 1920s, handmade by craftspeople using materials and techniques discontinued in later years.
