This Women’s History Month, we honor Rev. Dr. Tawana Davis, one of our recent Join the Flock recipients and the embodiment of women supporting women.

While courageously facing HER2 metastatic breast cancer, Tawana continues to pour into others, opening her home to those in crisis, supporting survivors of domestic violence, and creating spaces where women feel safe, seen, and never alone. Her ministry has never been confined to a pulpit; it lives in living rooms, hospital rooms, and the everyday moments where people need someone to stand beside them.

Her community describes her as the one who never hesitates, no matter the need, big or small. And in a beautiful reflection of the life she’s lived, that same community is now surrounding her with the love and care she has so freely given.

At Join the Flock, we are honored to stand with Tawana and to support her with a grant to bring a little more stability, peace, and care during this season.

This month, we celebrate her strength, her compassion, and the incredible impact she continues to make. 💗

Our 6th Annual Jennifer Edens Lazo Memorial Golf Tournament is moving to a new season… and a new home!

Brookfield Country Club in Roswell, GA

As we continue to grow, so does this special day. Moving to October allows us to align with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, honoring Jennifer’s journey in an even more meaningful way while raising critical funds for families battling cancer.

And this year, we’re elevating the experience at beautiful Brookfield Country Club, a stunning setting worthy of the impact this tournament has made over the past six years.

Six years. More than 100 families supported nationwide. Countless mortgage payments covered. And we’re just getting started.

We started this year with a gift that stopped us in our tracks, a thank-you video from one of our youngest recipients, Isaias, alongside his dad, Jose, and his big brother. And honestly? It’s everything Join the Flock stands for.

At just 3 years old, Isaias is battling B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, facing hospital stays, treatments, and moments no child should ever have to endure. Yet through it all, he shows a bravery far bigger than his little body, smiling through the hard moments, holding his dad’s hand, and reminding his own family, “It’s okay, I’m brave.”

Isaias loves soccer (a proud Messi fan), climbing trees, and playing the drums like his dad. His joy, courage, and light have carried his family through a season that turned their world upside down. When one parent had to step away from work to be by his side, income dropped, and the weight of uncertainty became overwhelming.

That’s where community steps in.�That’s why Join the Flock exists.

When families are fighting for their child’s life, the last thing they should have to fight is the fear of losing their home or choosing bills over being present at their bedside.

Starting this year with Isaias’ video is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. It’s about hope, stability and presence. And giving families the space to simply be a family wrapped in love, not panic.

🌟 Meet our Newest Recipient. 🌟

She has spent her life pouring into others. Ministering inside prisons, supporting women in crisis, caring for the homeless, mentoring children, and stepping in wherever someone needed a steady hand or a listening ear. In her church, her community, and her career, she has always been the first to show up, the first to pray with someone who was hurting, and the first to offer love to people so often forgotten.

That same spirit has shaped countless lives. Friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and even people she had only met once describe her as the person who stood beside them in their hardest moments. She has built a lifetime of lifting others higher, without ever asking for anything in return.

Now she is facing her own battle with stage-four metastatic breast cancer. Treatment has forced her to stop working, and the financial strain has been overwhelming. This month, she joined our flock as a recipient, and we are honored to surround her with the same compassion, stability, and hope she has given to so many.

Last night’s Pop, Shop & Party was extra special!

We had the joy of seeing one of our 2024 recipients, Wells Womack, in person! Wells is 7 and has been bravely battling leukemia since age 5, and seeing him all dressed up for a night out with his amazing mom, Erin, reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 💛

Moments like these, when we get to reconnect, share smiles, and witness the strength and joy of the families we serve, mean everything to us.

Keep shining, Wells. You are a true inspiration. ✨
