Kardia Foundation We Love Healthcare Workers! The Kardía Foundation focuses on equipping, empowering, and engaging healthcare workers as transformational servant leaders.

Healthcare transformation is greatly needed, but transformation of the field will only occur once transformation of its people occurs. Watch for our new curriculum! We work internationally teaching conferences in partnership with other organizations.

Do you know the Bible's account of Caleb and Joshua and the way they spied out the promised land where God wanted to send the nation of Israel? It's an excellent example of how to handle adversity in life, especially in the field of healthcare where burdens, challenges, and workload are quite large. Anyone who struggles during life needs some sort of crutch. That's not a bad thing; it's just something that provides support to help you get through tough times. As with using a crutch in orthopaedic rehabilitation, a crutch made of something supportive will be beneficial. Worldly possessions, professional reputation, and self-dependence will not work. What happens when someone has a fractured, or broken, bone? Some form of "binding up" is usually warranted to ensure that correct healing takes place. Life is often broken, too. What's the procedure for that? Yes, binding up is also needed for correct healing. And there is someone available to administer this specialized care. Paul the apostle wrote a letter to a young pastor named Timothy. In that letter we find guidance that can help us, too. The results of our faith can be clearly seen, just like the tracings from electromyography allows muscle function to be clearly seen. Have a look at today's metaphor here: E-KardiaGram 961: Faith Clearly Seen - https://mailchi.mp/1f13f5f812dd/e-kardiagram-961-faith-clearly-seen

Working out for fitness is not an occasional activity. It takes frequent, concentrated episodes of ensuring the various parts of your body receive exercise. Why, then, would it be any different for your spiritual life? You can get that into shape, too! But, not on the "once-a-year" plan! There's an important lesson we can learn from two Israelite midwives during the time when the people of ancient Israel lived in Egypt. Those midwives trusted God and disobeyed Pharaoh's order to kill all the male babies they brought into the world. Check out what we can learn from their faithfulness. Intravenous normal saline gives us an excellent illustration of how Christians should be, as Jesus said, "salt of the earth." A concentration of faith that is "holier than thou" is too strong and super annoying. We don't want to be too weak, either, or we will not be any help to the world around us. Would you undergo trephination (opening your skull to release evil spirits) or bloodletting (draining blood to remove germs) as medical treatments? Of course not! The Bible, in Acts 8, tells about a man named Simon. He thought he had magical powers and he amazed the people in his city. Then Philip showed him that Jesus was the correct way to spiritual satisfaction. The old had to give way to the truth. It's a lesson that endures today. One of the ways God uses His people to be a blessing on earth is by having their collective light shine. However, that can only happen when the light is visible. Using a passage from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and an example from surgery, we explore this concept as a way to encourage God's people. There's fixed and there's fixed. That's right, one word with two definitions. Check out how both meanings are important in understanding the gift that Jesus gave us when He gave up His life so we could receive His gift of grace and life. There's no more important message for you today. E-KardiaGram 955: The Meanings of Fixed - https://mailchi.mp/4e749e15e222/e-kardiagram-955-the-meanings-of-fixed
