Sunday we held our farewell dinner, it was a great chance to recap our visit and show our delegates how much we enjoyed their visit. Toshie held a yukata lesson for anyone interested, we ate deliciously bbq cooked by Jon and we ended our night with the Chchibu dance. There were many tears shed by all!

Wednesday it was time for our San Francisco Tour! Started off at Panorama Park on Yerba Buena Island, then walked and drove the Crookedest Street, Lombard. There I saw for the first time ever the parrots of SF! We next visited Pier 39 and Fishermans warf, and then had a slice of pizza before watching the cable cars turn around. Checked out the view of the Golden Gate from Fort Point, stopped by the visitor center and walked a bit of the Golden Gate, finally we headed home for dinner at In-n-Out!

Tuesday we ventured to the top of Mt. Diablo, the weather was beautiful, only a little hot and surprisingly no wind! The dragon flies were visiting during their migration so there were thousands! The kids took a short hike out to a rock outcropping and we enjoyed a tasty picnic lunch before heading back home!

Friday evening we gathered together to formally welcome our guests from our Sister City of Chichibu, Japan. In celebration of our upcoming 60th anniversary in 2027, the Deputy Consul General from the Japanese Consulate in San Francisco attended and presented commendations to the city of Antioch, Sally Massey and Jim Davis. We also honored the hosts who have opened their homes to our 13 delegates. The students shared some information on Japanese culture and food and even danced the Soran Bushi for us!
