We just arrived home from our last trip to Africa. We are always so blessed and humbled by our time spent there. It’s important to us that the teachers and staff always know that our time together is treasured. They have become like family. Serving others isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up with love. It can be messy, rewarding, exhausting, and joy-filled all at once. And it’s one of the most tangible ways we can reflect Christ’s light in this world. Service is not just an action, it’s a posture of the heart and, most importantly, a way of valuing people. Here are a few fun things we learned this trip!

1. Chitanges aren’t just for keeping your clothes clean

2. Dowry’s are still a thing

3. Different tribes dance with different parts of their body

4. Roosters do not only crow at sunrise

5. Work smarter not harder is understood at any age

6. Junior high boys are junior high boys all over the world

7. If you don’t ride in the back of the pick up truck, you do not get a homemade scone

8. It doesn’t matter if you’re the winner or the loser you still are gonna take a picture with the trophy!!

9. American women have no idea about what real childbirth is all about….

10. 90 % of the people tested for malaria came up positive but are still some of the hardest workers despite being sick at the same time.

11. As an adult, some people have never tasted chocolate in their entire life.

12. Children LOVE when stories come alive….and they do now know how many buttons Pete the cat has!!

13. When you get to serve on the mission field with those that you’ve served with off and on for the last 15 years it feels like no time has ever passed.

14. Never assume everyone has stepped foot into a store!

Another great day!! Classroom time, medical checkups, new curriculum supplies being used by the teachers, rain and more rain, laughter, singing and praising God together. Love that we have built relationships with the community and the kids and we are welcomed so openly. Can’t wait to go out in the community tomorrow to visit some of our parents and grandparents of the children at the school! The River is definitely calling our name too!!

Our trip has been beyond a blessing so far!! Our hearts are smiling and filled with joy. Thankful we have the opportunity to share the love of Christ with others while encouraging and supporting teachers and schools around the world. Ms Brenda you rocked today!! The kids loved you and the teachers were so engaged and willing to learn. Can’t wait until tomorrow to see the teachers in action with the new resources we have shared!!

Many of you have asked for us to make a wish list for our upcoming mission trips!! I think I did it correctly and I have a couple teachers adding to the list as well. We leave for Jamaica in just a couple of weeks and we are going to Africa in early June. (There is still time for you to join us!!) Thank you all for your support!
