🇺🇸THANK YOU for the support of our annual Flag Day ceremony.
We respectfully retired many flags today and truly appreciate our member and community support of this special event.
We are grateful especially grateful to the young men of the Elks #973 sponsored sandlot team for assisting in today’s ceremony.
🌟A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to the team behind the scenes:
Our bartender, Amy for keeping all the sodas and cold drinks moving
Our Social Committee and Scholarship Committee for the beautiful and tasty lunch

“Today these colors are tattered and faded. They have served their country with honor and distinction. They have now reached the end of their patriotic journey. May the fundamental virtues for which they waved be ever embedded in our hearts and souls.”

🇺🇸Open to the public: Flag exchange

We will be accepting retired flags and exchanging them for a brand new flag from 4pm to 6pm on the following dates:
Tuesday, June 9
Wednesday, June 10
Thursday, June 11

One of the important traditions of the Elks is our annual Flag Day Ceremony, which includes the respectful retirement of worn, torn, or faded American flags. This year’s ceremony will be held Sunday, June 14 at 1pm.

During this ceremony, we honor those flags and properly dispose of them in accordance with long-standing traditions and the respect our nation’s flag deserves.

The American flag is more than a piece of fabric; it represents the freedoms we enjoy, the sacrifices of those who have served, and the ideals that unite us as Americans. By conducting this ceremony, we ensure that these symbols of our nation are retired with dignity and honor.

If you have an unserviceable American flag that needs to be properly retired, our lodge is proud to provide this service to the community.
