Westside Community Gardens of Athens

Westside Community Gardens of Athens Westside Community Gardens of Athens is a community garden located at the West State Street Park in Athens, Ohio.

In the early 2000s, a community gardening space was started at the West State Street Park in Athens, Ohio. Shortly thereafter, in 2004, Community Food Initiatives began managing the gardens, and the gardens grew steadily. Working toward independence, gardeners formed the Westside Community Gardens of Athens, an Unincorporated Association officially registered with the State of Ohio. In 2011, WCGA now manages the gardens, continuing the community spirit and fostering growth of the space.
