DC Zinefest The DC Zinefest is an annual celebration of independent publishing, held in the nation's capital. community.

The DC Zinefest is an independent event organized to provide a space for zine makers, self-published artists and writers to share their work with each other and the Washington D.C. We hope to support a community that is based in do-it-yourself practices and ethics through providing the opportunity to expo, workshop, and hang out with zines. If we don’t do it ourselves, no one will do it for us.

Come read and learn about brains with us this Brain Awareness Week! 🧠

On Saturday March 21, we are organizing a zine reading at from 5-7pm. Organizer Dirk Keaton will be reading from a forthcoming zine about his brain injuries and a few neuroscientists are also joining with their zines. Along with the reading, there will also be some activities, including a microscope with slides. Join us with your brain-related zines to read and trade or just show up excited to hear people share their brain stories! 🧠🧠🧠

Note: Space is limited, the shop and their craft room is wheelchair/ADA accessible and we encourage attendees to wear masks. Please stay home to recover if you are sick.

We’ve got your Valentine’s Day afternoon plans covered with a fun, free, zine making, swapping, and reading event at — VALENZINE 📕❤️
When: Saturday 2/14 1-3 PM
Where: Doubles DC (3118 Georgia Ave NW). We’ll be sitting at the patio in the back!
What: We’ll be making victorian puzzle purses and simple 1 sheet zines. All materials are provided! We will also have time to swap zines with others and read zines aloud. Make sure to get a yummy bevvie/treat from Doubles while you’re there!
Bring (optional): Your own zines to swap/read or zines you love from your collection to read!
Accessibility: Doubles is wheelchair/ADA accessible. We encourage attendees to wear masks and please stay home if you feel sick!

Hello DMV Zinesters! We're working on setting up a virtual zine library featuring zines by local creators. If you're interested having your zine shared through our website, then email us a PDF of your work at [email protected] (with directions of how to assemble your zine if it is not a standard 8 page zine made out of a A4 printer sheet). There is no fee and your zine will be shared under a CC BY-NC-ND-4.0 license.
