Paul Harris Fellowship - A Moment of Honor, Respect, and Rotary Service

At yesterday's Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston meeting, members witnessed a truly memorable and heartfelt exchange that beautifully reflected the spirit of Rotary.

Club Foundation Chair Jeff Fairfield had the distinct honor of presenting Liudmila Mikhailova with a Paul Harris Fellow certificate and pin in recognition of her commitment to Rotary's mission and her generous support of The Rotary Foundation. As fellow Rotarians looked on, it was a moment filled with pride, gratitude, and appreciation for the impact Liudmila has made through her dedication to service above self.

The celebration became even more meaningful when Liudmila surprised Jeff with a special gift of her own. As a gesture of profound respect and admiration for Jeff Fairfield's years of service to The Rotary Foundation and his unwavering commitment to advancing Rotary's humanitarian work, she presented him with a Paul Harris Fellow pendant displayed on an original blue and yellow Rotary lanyard.

The exchange was more than a presentation of awards—it was a reflection of the friendships, mutual respect, and shared commitment that make Rotary so special. One leader was recognized for her generosity and service, while another was honored for his steadfast dedication to helping others make a difference around the world through The Rotary Foundation.

At this morning's Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston club meeting, President Arti Agarwal reflected on an extraordinary year of service, fellowship, growth, and impact. Together, our club and members supported scholarships, youth programs, community service projects, clean water initiatives, environmental efforts, fundraising events, and countless opportunities to make a difference both locally and around the world. Through it all, our club continued to demonstrate the true meaning of Service Above Self.

President Arti also highlighted the friendships and connections that strengthened our club this year through social events, committee engagement, fireside chats, and member involvement.

A special moment of the morning was recognizing several outstanding Rotarians whose leadership and dedication helped make this year such a success: Jeff Fairfield, Elysa Birman, Mary Williams, Richard Ramsburg, Jane Nash, Liudmila Milahovich, and Tuba Mansoor.

The Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston extends our sincere gratitude to Jimmy's Old Town Tavern for providing the delicious lunch that helped make our 2026 Senior-Senior Prom such a memorable and enjoyable event.

The wonderful meal was enjoyed by all and added a special touch of comfort, hospitality, and community to the celebration. From the quality of the food to the generous spirit behind it, Jimmy's once again demonstrated why it is such a beloved part of the Herndon community.

The Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston extends its deepest gratitude to the amazing Gottaswing dancers who helped make our 2026 Senior-Senior Prom an unforgettable celebration!

From the moment they arrived, the GottaSwing team filled the room with incredible energy, enthusiasm, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Their talented dancers didn't just perform—they connected with our seniors, inviting them onto the dance floor, encouraging participation, and making everyone feel welcome and included.

Their kindness and joyful spirit created a magical atmosphere where laughter, smiles, and dancing flourished. Whether leading a dance, offering a helping hand, or sharing a few words of encouragement, the Gottaswing dancers brought a level of compassion and engagement that touched everyone in attendance.

Everybody Was a Winner: Celebrating the Spirit of the Senior-Senior Prom

One of the highlights of the Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston Rotary Senior-Senior Prom was the special recognition of our amazing dancers! Awards were presented for Best Female Dancer, Best Male Dancer, Best Rhythm, and Best Dressed that brought smiles and applause throughout the afternoon.

The excitement on the faces of the recipients reminded everyone that recognition, friendship, and having fun never grow old.

We were also thrilled to welcome Mayor Keven LeBlanc, Mayor of the Town of Herndon, who joined in the festivities and helped make the day even more special for our guests. His presence demonstrated the community's commitment to honoring and celebrating our senior residents.

A special thank you to Dan Flavin of Graceful Care, our outstanding emcee, whose energy, humor, and enthusiasm kept the crowd engaged and the celebration moving. Dan helped ensure that every guest felt welcomed, appreciated, and part of something truly meaningful.

The Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston 2026 Senior-Senior Prom wasn't just about dancing—it was about creating moments of happiness, recognizing the value of every individual, and bringing people together through fellowship and fun. Forever Young: Seniors Shine at an Unforgettable Senior-Senior Prom - An Afternoon of Joy, Connection, and Memories

The Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston 2026 Senior-Senior Prom held at the St. Joseph Event Hall was a celebration of friendship, community, and the simple joy of being together.

As the sounds of The Loudoun Jazz Ensemble filled the room and the talented Gottaswing Dancers inspired guests to take to the dance floor, seniors from communities including the Herndon Harbor House, The Mather in Tysons, and Hunters Woods Fellowship Square, shared smiles, laughter, and treasured moments. Many attendees reminisced about dances from years gone by while creating new memories with friends old and new.

The delicious food generously provided by Jimmy's Old Town Tavern added to the festive atmosphere. It was the spirit of connection that made the afternoon truly special. For many seniors, opportunities to gather, socialize, dance, and enjoy live entertainment can be rare. From attendees to volunteers, this event made everyone feel celebrated, valued, and engaged within the community.
