When summer begins, and school meals pause, many families feel the impact.

At The Christian Center’s Community Dining Room, we continue serving free meals every day, because hunger does not take a season off. Our dining room offers:

A recent Point In Time count identified 154 people experiencing homelessness in Madison County. Excitingly, 40 have been housed, and 30 more have entered long-term recovery programs, addressing the significant role of addiction.

He was a habitual relapser, cycling in and out of treatment. After being asked to leave campus due to his struggles, he found refuge at the warming center. Faced with an ultimatum, he chose to try again, and his community was ready to support his recovery journey.

When behaviors led to exclusion, an ultimatum offered a path to recovery. Embracing dual diagnosis and consistent effort, he regained campus presence, secured a job, and earned his own place through a supportive housing initiative. This is the power of readiness meeting opportunity.
