Indiana’s State Disaster Relief Fund will provide up to $5,000 in emergency assistance to eligible Hoosiers impacted by recent storms and severe weather.

This funding can help eligible families get back on their feet by replacing damaged property, including clothing, essential appliances, and essential household furnishings.

If your home or property was damaged, you can call 211 or visit the link included with this post for more information on eligibility, available assistance, and how to apply.

IMPORTANT: If you experienced damage, it is highly recommended that you:

* Take photos and videos of all damage
* Document serial numbers for damaged appliances or other items
* Keep receipts for repairs, replacement items, and other recovery-related expenses
* Save as much documentation as possible throughout the recovery process

The more evidence and documentation you are able to provide, the better positioned you will be when seeking assistance from the state.

UPDATED 8/20/2026 at 8:39 a.m. ET - PUTNAM COUNTY ADDED

Indiana 211 is accepting damage reports for the counties mapped below.

To help establish a comprehensive assessment of damage, residents can call 866-211-9966 or visit the Indiana 211 website (on.in.gov/IN-211).

Collecting assessments via this process will help IDHS determine damage estimates and develop the next course of action in the disaster recovery process. 211 can also help residents connect to local resources to aid in response and recovery.

All agriculture damages should be reported to the local USDA Farm Service Agency. To locate the appropriate contact, individuals can use the USDA locator tool (www.farmers.gov/working-with-us/service-center-locator).
