Alaska Safety Alliance ASA partners with other organizations that believe in developing Alaska's most important resource, our people.

The mission of Alaska Safety Alliance it to ensure the availability of a highly trained workforce, sufficient to staff Alaska’s industries safely and competitively, now and in the future We are getting Alaskans ready for work through training, skills building, higher education, and career awareness. Special emphasis is given to occupations with an identified shortage of qualified Alaskans. Preparing Alaskans to be "work-ready" helps all our businesses and economy grow.

Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development is proud to support the 2026 Alaska Workforce Convening! The two-day convening brings together workforce development leaders from government, education, industry and nonprofit sectors to work together on addressing challenges in Alaska, and to continue advancing the objectives outlined in Alaska's Workforce Future, including enhancing career awareness among young Alaskans, retaining Alaskans and attracting new Alaskans, among other shared goals. AEDC's Jon Bittner presented today at the 2026 Alaska Workforce Convening, hosted by the Alaska Safety Alliance and partners including Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, attendees join ASA/AWA members and partners for two days of workforce development sessions, employer panels, and networking with peers from across the state at The Nave, 3502 Spenard Road, Anchorage. AEDC is proud to be part of the workforce development discussion.

⛳💙 What. A. Day. 🎉 Our inaugural Safety Swing & Summer Fling was one for the books!

From an immersion suit race and a lifesaver ring toss challenge, to casting for the tee, taking on a bucking salmon, and yes—a few golf-inspired challenges along the way—crews brought plenty of skill, laughs, and friendly competition to the course.

Best of all, every challenge helped support the Alaska Safety Alliance Training Scholarship Fund, helping more Alaskans access the training they need to build safe, successful careers.

2026 Awardee Shoutout: Rachel Taylor, ASA Training Scholarship recipient and aspiring commercial pilot.

Since earning her private pilot license, Rachel has added her instrument, tailwheel, and ski flying ratings while training in some of the country's most challenging airspace. She's balancing work, flight training, and even helping maintain the 1941 Piper J-3 she's learning to fly, all while working toward her commercial pilot license.

With support from the Alaska Safety Alliance Training Scholarship, Rachel is one step closer to her dream of a career in Alaska aviation. She hopes to safely connect people to our state's remote communities and wild places while inspiring more women to pursue careers in aviation.
