Buffalo Underdogs Rescue We are an all-breed, volunteer-driven nonprofit org. BUR saves dogs in WNY as well as from a rural kill shelter in Eastern TX.

We pull dogs from shelters & transport them to their awaiting foster homes, in the Buffalo area.

Hi, I’m Cold Brew 👋 the boy with the big noggin and only one thought….”when’s my next snack”.

🤍 Bully Mix | 65lbs | 7 years young

I listen well, walk nicely on leash, cuddle aggressively, and have an overall sweet disposition. I can play with toys by myself, but I’d love another dog to play with me. 🐕 I’m super respectful with my foster brother and sister, and will listen when told to leave the house kitties alone. 🐱

I am a tripping hazard, and will be at your feet as you move around the house🤪 You’ll never be alone again when cooking, using the restroom, or attempting to leave the house 😉 I am crate trained and sleep in my crate through the night. 💤

I sometimes jump on my people to express my excitement and love so families with littles might not be a good fit.

Bella, a mama who gave everything ❤️‍🩹

When Bella arrived at our partner shelter in Texas with her 9 puppies, she was emaciated and sick with Heartworm disease. She poured every last bit of herself into those puppies - because that’s the kind of heart Bella has.

Her babies grew up and found amazing families of their own. Meanwhile, Bella is still waiting. 😢

It’s finally her turn to be taken care of. Bella is about 4 years old, so the puppy chaos is behind her. All she wants is a soft couch and a pal to snuggle with 🤗. She loves people, she’s wonderful with kids, and she would be the most loyal family dog you could ask for.

Bella is dog selective, so her dream home is one where she can be the one and only. But, she has so much love to give and she’s ready to give it all to you!!

Mama dogs are so very special, and it breaks our hearts to watch this sweet girl be overlooked again and again. After everything she’s done for others, she deserves a home of her own.

🍔🐾 GENE HAS LEFT THE BURGER JOINT AND FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME! 🏡❤️

We're so excited to announce that Gene from our Bob's Burgers litter has officially been adopted! 🎉🐶

Gene, now known as Archie, has found himself the sweetest little family! ❤️

His new big sister is a 6-year-old, 90-pound bulldog who may be MUCH bigger than her little brother, but she's as gentle as can be with him! 🥹🐾 Talk about an adorable sibling duo!

And Archie's new mom and 16-year-old human sister are already completely smitten with their newest family member! 🥰

We couldn't be happier for this sweet boy. There's nothing better than seeing one of our pups settle into a home where they're already so loved. Congratulations to Archie and his adorable new family! ❤️🐾

BUT we have something else we’d love to tell you about: some truly incredible adult dogs who have been waiting in rescue for over a YEAR without a single application.

We get it, puppies are adorable! But our adults are just as deserving of love, and they come with some pretty great perks.🥹

-Past the chaotic puppy stage

It took her just moments to settle into her foster home and claim her favorite spot (the bed, of course). She’s potty trained, knows how to sit on command, and takes her sweet time sniffing and rolling in the grass on walks.

Another Buffalo Underdog has officially found her happily ever after! 🏡🥰

Sweet Morgan originally came to us from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, where we pulled her into rescue and welcomed her into one of our amazing foster homes. Thanks to the love and dedication of her foster family, Morgan got the chance to prepare for the wonderful life waiting for her! ❤️

And now she's HOME! 🎉

Morgan has a new human sibling to love and a very sweet canine sister named Mabel! 🐶💕 Mabel isn't pictured because apparently she had enough excitement for one day and was ready to head inside for a nap! 😂💤

We couldn't be happier for Morgan and her new family! A huge thank you to her foster family for giving her a safe place to land and helping her find her perfect match. ❤️

Happy tails, Morgan! Enjoy every minute of your new adventure! 🐾🏡

MEET FRANKENSTEIN!⚡💚 👻🎃

Don’t let the name scare you… this little guy is more snuggles than spooky! 🥰

Frankenstein is one of our adorable Halloween litter pups! As of 10/8/26, this handsome little dude is 8 weeks old and ready to find his very own happily ever after! 🏡❤️

Personality? STAGE FIVE VELCRO PUP!

Seriously, wherever you are, that’s where Frankenstein wants to be! Cooking dinner? He’s supervising. Watching TV? He’s right there. Going from room to room? Don’t worry, you have a tiny shadow following your every move! 🐶

Frankenstein is your typical puppy, which means he’s still learning all about this big, exciting world! 🌎 He’s working on his manners, potty training, and all those important puppy basics. He’ll need a family with patience, consistency, and plenty of love to help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be.

Leila is the total package: a sweet adult pittie girl with a big heart and an even bigger talent for cuddling! 🥰 She’s great with dogs and children and would love a home with a friendly canine sibling to share her adventures with.

Leila enjoys leisurely walks, tasty chew toys, and snuggling up on the couch with her favorite humans. 🛋️💤 She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash.
