Make way for Princess Khushi! 👑

Khushi was diagnosed with cancer at age 6. Instead of playing dress-up and watching her favorite movies, she was suddenly enduring scary medical treatments.

But Khushi always dreamed of being a princess, so her wish day came with a royal celebration she'll never forget. And some fabulous costume inspiration for all the royals-in-waiting out there!

While Khushi dressed up in a sparkly gown, tiara, and scepter fit for a princess, her community rallied together to honor her in her town's annual Christmas parade. As Khushi rode through the city in a horse-drawn carriage, her friends and neighbors cheered her on. 💙

Who says fairytales only happen in storybooks? Khushi's story shows how a wish can bring the wildest of dreams to life, and spread joy far beyond the child at its center.

Who says you have to wait until Halloween to become a hero? 🚒

Inspired by the bravery of the FDNY, Pierce wished to be a firefighter himself. When his wish was granted, he got to step into the uniform of his heroes, tour several fire stations, and even climb to the top of a fire engine.

Pierce has served as a junior member of his local fire department for years. On wish day, he got a big promotion: he was sworn in as an honorary FDNY firefighter! 🧑‍🚒

For children battling a critical illness, the chance to focus on something they love can give the whole family a much-needed break. A wish celebrates who a child is, what inspires them, and all the things they dream of doing.

We're on a mission to reach every child eligible for a wish—and we couldn't do it without the generosity of our Western New York community. 💙

The WNY Woodworkers, Millenium Construction, Cruise for a Cause with Colonial Belle & Perinton Pizza Emporium, Jeff Tara (BrandVue Design), The Shamrock Inn, and the Wednesday Night Golf League at Greystone have all been hard at work to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York, and we are so grateful!

From playing in a golf tournament to running 50 miles, each of the Western New Yorkers pictured sacrificed their time and energy to give back to the children who need it most.

We can't thank our community enough for the impact you have made. Your support will allow more kids with a critical illness to experience the hope, joy, and relief that a wish can provide. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💫

Looking for a unique costume idea? Monika's scent-sational wish might just inspire you. 🌟

After bravely fighting a brain tumor for four years, Monika—whose sense of smell became her way to experience the world—discovered a passion for perfume-making.

When it came time to choose her wish, she wanted to strengthen her fragrance-crafting skills. Together with her family, Monika spent an unforgettable day at a perfume factory, where she created a one-of-a-kind perfume featuring her favorite scents.

“[Monika’s wish] was so catered to her and her interests. She was beaming,” shared Monika’s dad, Laurent.

Erik's story is proof that when a wish is granted, the sky's the limit. 🚀🌟

While undergoing chemotherapy, Erik found escape in watching rocket launch videos. He even started dressing up like an astronaut because it made him feel brave. We could all learn something from Erik—you can be anything you wish to be, whether it's Halloween or not!

When he was done with chemo, Erik and his family were ready for an out-of-this-world adventure. So, he wished to watch a rocket launch at the Kennedy Space Center. 🌌

A wish like Erik's has the power to give a child the gift of joy, hope, and memories to last a lifetime, wherever it may take them. Even if that means outer space!

After suiting up in her pink cowgirl gear, Kionna was ready to ride. For a little while, she got to trade in her worries for a cowgirl hat and imagine a world full of possibilities.

Ariece had always dreamed of sailing the open sea. When he wished to be a pirate, he was granted control of his very own ship to venture out on a swashbuckling adventure. ⛵

Decked out in pirate gear fit for a captain, Ariece set sail. He fought off invading pirates with his sword, protected a mermaid, and even found hidden treasure!

After battling cancer, a wish gave Areice the chance to take back some control. Behind the wheel of a vast pirate ship, he was free to chart his own course, and just focus on being a kid again.

Four-year-old Amelia had always been captivated by animals. When she wished to be a zookeeper for a day, she had an all-access pass to a wild adventure she’ll never forget. 🦒

Amelia was presented with her official custom zookeeper uniform, complete with a matching explorer hat. From petting a sloth to watching elephants do tricks, her day was filled with animal adventures. The highlight? A party in her honor.... hosted by chimpanzees!

“Every moment was filled with excitement,” said Carrie, Amelia’s mom. “It was life-changing to see how joyful the whole experience made her.” 💙

That’s the power of a wish: a break from treatment and hospital rooms, and a chance for a child to get a glimpse of the bright, limitless future ahead of them.

Halloween is a chance for a child to dress up as anything they want. A wish is a chance for a child to truly live their dream. 🌟🎃

As we count down to the big costume and candy-filled day, we'll be sharing stories of kids who wished "to be" something extraordinary. From a princess to an firefighter to a horse trainer, these tales are proof that a wish can make the biggest dreams feel within reach.

Fall is farm season. Yatziel's wish was the best farm day we’ve seen.

Yatziel doesn’t need words to tell you what he loves. Nothing brings a smile to his face quite like the sounds of animals: birds, chickens, cows, ducks, horses and pigs. His mom says they’re his favorite things in the world.

So for his wish, Yatziel got to celebrate his birthday at a farm.

Yatziel got to meet all of his favorite animals and even got to hold some of them. He played alongside his friends and family, and together they picked bouquets of fresh sunflowers. Then came cupcakes, each one decorated like a farm animal. 💙

For a child facing a critical illness, a wish is a day to look forward to, a day to remember, and a reminder of how much joy there still is. A day like Yatziel’s is only possible because of our community.
