We love walking alongside our participants in life.

When an individual receives services from BCRC, we ensure that the participant's interests, preferences, and personal goals remain a priority. We leverage the unique strengths and abilities while identifying areas for growth and improvement, helping the participant develop the skills they need to achieve their goals.

Our vision is to ensure that everyone our agency serves, regardless of the barriers they face, acquires the skills they need to achieve their employment and recovery goals, experience increased independence, and become contributing members of their community.

🌟 It Takes a Village: Meet Lucas Guthrie 🌟

At BCRC, we know that meaningful support starts with meaningful people. That's why we're launching our new monthly employee spotlight series, "It Takes a Village," highlighting the dedicated individuals who make our mission possible every day.

We're honored to begin this series with Lucas Guthrie, a Certified Peer Specialist at Aurora, BCRC's mental health services program.

Lucas's journey with Aurora is a powerful example of recovery, resilience, and giving back. He first came to Aurora as a participant in 2006. Inspired by his own recovery experience, he earned his Certified Peer Specialist certification and has been supporting others on their mental health journeys since 2007.

Today, Lucas uses his lived experience to help participants recognize that recovery is possible and that a meaningful, fulfilling life is within reach. He finds the greatest reward in watching individuals set goals, build skills, gain confidence, and discover their own potential.

Outside of Aurora, Lucas is a Saint Vincent College graduate with a degree in History and a passion for lifelong learning. He enjoys exploring history, technology, podcasts, and research.

When asked to describe his experience at Aurora in one word, Lucas said:
πŸ’š Supported

And that's exactly the kind of environment Lucas helps create for others every day.

Thank you, Lucas, for your compassion, dedication, and the hope you bring to the people you serve.
