Last night, Albuquerque residents made their voices heard.

For the second time this year, community members showed up to oppose a proposed tax increase, and City Council voted 5-4 to reject it.

A huge thank you to the residents who took the time to testify and share how higher taxes would impact their families, businesses, and communities. Thank you also to the councilors who listened to their constituents and voted against this tax hike.

This victory was made possible by a broad coalition of engaged citizens and organizations working together, including AFP-New Mexico, LIBRE Initiative, and Concerned Veterans for America.

When citizens speak up, elected officials listen.
