Cat Welfare Society

Cat Welfare Society CWS is a Singapore based charity which advocates for the harmonious co-existence of humans and cats. This means that our donors are entitled to tax deductions.

The Cat Welfare Society (CWS) is a Singapore-based society registered under the Societies Act (Cap. 311 of Singapore). It is also a charity and an Institute of Public Character (“IPC”) pursuant to the Charities Act (Cap. 37 of Singapore) (status effective till 8 December 2024). Over the years, CWS has grown from strength to strength and evolved in its

vision and mission. Our work has expanded from sterilisation to include community mediation and frontline intervention, community cat population management, education on responsible practices, outreach, and advocacy. Use of and/or participation in CWS' page

Microchipping is quick and easy!

Here's how microchipping works - the vet will place the teeny tiny microchip (can you even spot it in the picture?) right under the skin layer. It's super fast, faster than a vaccination sometimes.

The microchip has a unique number like your IC. When you scan it with a reader it will show the number.

You can then license your cat with this unique number. This helps to identify which cat belongs to who or is cared for by who.

Microchipping and licensing of cats is mandatory under the law from 1 September 2026. CWS has a free microchipping and sterilisation programme. If you need help with the costs, apply through our link in the ig bio.
