“I want patients to feel seen, treated precisely, and supported by a system built with their realities in mind.”

Driven by a personal mission, Fellow from our National Young Leaders Fellowship, Eve Ang is working to make preventive cancer care more accessible across South and Southeast Asia.

At just 18, she’s showing how technology can go beyond innovation for innovation’s sake — and become a way to make care more human and responsive to the people it serves.

And while Eve has already come far, she’s only getting started. 💛

Last Friday, we marked the launch of the fifth edition of JPMorganChase Career Connect! 💛⭐

This year, students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) will be mentored by JPMorganChase professionals as they build the skills, confidence, and connections to prepare for quality careers in technology and related fields.

For the first time, the programme will focus on equipping 17- to 19-year-olds with employability and workplace readiness skills, particularly youths who may not have had as much access to professional networks, resources, and developmental support.

We kicked off the launch with keynote addresses from Abhishek Garg, Managing Director, Global Co-Head of FX Options Trading at J.P. Morgan, and Alice Seow, Principal of ITE College West, before mentors and mentees broke into their groups to get to know one another.

And what better way to break the ice than putting their generational knowledge to the test?
From guessing youth slang to figuring out popular trends, the room quickly filled with laughter and chatter as mentors and mentees discovered their differences — and perhaps more importantly, the things they had in common.

It was a light-hearted start to what will be a meaningful journey ahead, where both mentors and mentees will have plenty to learn from one another.

Thank you to JPMorganChase for creating this opportunity for young people to gain the skills, exposure, and networks that can support them as they step into the world of work. We look forward to seeing how this new cohort grows together over the sessions ahead! 💛⭐

This year’s National Day theme, “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond,” reminds us that every young person has the potential to make a difference in their own way. At Halogen, we have the opportunity to work with youths from schools across Singapore to help them reach their fullest potential, and their passion and hope for the future continue to inspire us every day. ⭐️

Do you remember the last time you had a genuine conversation with a stranger? 💛

As technology lowers the barrier to online connection, meaningful offline connections can sometimes feel harder to come by.

That’s what drove these youths from our National Young Leaders Fellowship to start Kopi & Kaya — a youth-led initiative creating opportunities for strangers to become neighbours, one conversation at a time. Through kindness challenges, community booths and online content, their work remind us that building a kinder society need not require grand initiatives, but simply a heart for our community.

“I hope they feel safe in this space, where they feel genuinely supported and understood — and that they are not facing their challenges in isolation, but as part of a community that truly sees them.”

This hope is what drives 17-year-old Klarisse Ng to do what she does. Through Project Luminare, the National Young Leaders Fellowship Fellow is creating spaces where individuals living with rare diseases and the families who care for them can find something that’s often missing in their journey: community.

From bringing families together to supporting advocacy and fundraising efforts, Klarisse believes meaningful change does not take grand gestures. Sometimes, it happens by choosing to show up consistently for the people who are often overlooked.
