Step inside one of Singapore’s historic treasures and you’ll find stories hidden in every detail. 🏛️✨

Founded in 1836 by Nan’an pioneers and today managed by the Singapore Lam Ann Association, Hong San See was gazetted as a National Monument in 1978. After a major restoration from 2006 to 2009, the temple became the first Chinese temple in Singapore to receive an Award of Excellence at the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

190 years on, its architecture still holds fascinating clues to its history, craftsmanship and beliefs. Swipe through as we uncover some of the stories.

凤山寺由南安先贤于1836年创立，如今由新加坡南安会馆管理，并于1978年列为国家古迹。经过2006年至2009年的大规模修复工程后，凤山寺成为新加坡首座荣获联合国教科文组织亚太区文化遗产保护奖“卓越奖”的庙宇。✨

Last month, our “A Hundred Commemorative Treasures” event brought together a special collection of 100 commemorative gifts exchanged during our visits to 100 Nan’an associations and organisations around the world. Each piece carries with it a story of friendship and connection that transcends borders.

As guests arrived at the Association, they were greeted by a striking five-metre-wide globe outside the Lee Kong Chian Hall, featuring photos of the 100 Nan’an associations we visited across the world. 🌏 Surrounding it were more than 100 flags representing Nan’an clan and business associations from different countries.

Inside the Lee Kong Chian Hall, guests could explore the commemorative gifts presented to us by the various associations. Each reflected something distinctive about its place of origin, while preserving precious memories of the friendships and connections forged throughout our journey.

Our heartfelt thanks to Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Finance and Manpower Shawn Huang for joining us as our Guest-of-Honour. We also thank our Council Members who took part in the 100 visits for sharing their memorable experiences and reflections from this meaningful journey. 🧡

上个月举行的 “百会同心 万里同根” 活动中，我们特别呈现出访全球百家南安商会及同乡组织期间，彼此交流互赠的百件纪念珍品。每一件，都承载着一段跨越地域的情谊与故事。

嘉宾一踏入会馆，首先映入眼帘的，是矗立在李光前堂外、直径达5米的巨型地球仪，上面汇聚了全球100家南安社团的珍贵合影。🌏 环绕四周的，则是超过100面来自世界各地南安会馆、同乡会及商会的旗帜，场面格外壮观。

走进李光前堂，各地社团赠予会馆的纪念品一一呈现眼前。每件珍品各具地方特色，也记录着我们一路走访、交流与结缘的珍贵回忆。

感谢财政部兼人力部高级政务次长黄伟中担任活动主宾，也感谢参与“访百会”的理事们与大家分享一路上的见闻与感悟。🧡

We are honoured to have Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Law & Ministry of Social & Family Development to grace our Hong San See Temple 190th Anniversary event.

It was a rare event, showcasing the kampung spirit and to bless joy & harmony to the surrounding neighbourhood. Many locals & foreigners participated in the meaningful event, fostering an understanding of diverse cultures in Singapore.

100 visits for 100 years of shared heritage and friendship. 💯

Since July 2024, our President, Mr Neo Kah Kiat, has journeyed across the region to visit 100 Nan’an associations and clans. The journey came to a meaningful close in June this year, as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Singapore Lam Ann Association.

Here’s another look back at some of the warm exchanges and friendships forged along the way. ❤️

As we count down to our Centennial Celebration Gala Dinner in November, we look forward to welcoming distinguished guests from Nan’an associations and clans around the world, as we celebrate a century of shared roots, enduring friendships and the bonds that continue to connect us across generations.

百年传承，百次走访，情谊相连。✨

自2024年7月起，会长梁佳吉先生走访区域内的100个南安社团与宗亲组织。这趟别具意义的旅程于今年6月圆满完成，也为新加坡南安会馆百年华诞留下了一段珍贵的纪念。
