【百年同济，百年东华；同根同源，情谊长存 --
香港东华三院代表团访问新加坡同济医院】
6月2日，新加坡同济医院荣幸迎接香港东华三院代表团一行17人莅临参访交流。双方通过参观同济大厦及历史走廊、观看同济医院介绍影片和院歌、座谈交流及互赠纪念品等活动，增进彼此了解，共叙两院跨越世纪的深厚情谊。
出席接待的同济医院代表包括秘书长刘廷辉先生、外事组主任柯清淞先生、外事组副主任胡庚椰先生、庶务组主任黄培青女士、总经理林琴琴女士，以及副医务总管王思諭医师和医务执行员郭奕阳医师。
欢迎仪式上，刘廷辉秘书长代表同济医院及同济医药研究院董事会，对东华三院代表团的到来表示热烈欢迎，并介绍同济医院及同济医药研究院的发展历程与服务宗旨。
刘秘书长在致辞中提到，同济医院前身为同济医社，创立于1867年，至今已有159年历史。多年来始终秉持“不分种族、宗教、国籍，一视同仁，施医赠药”的精神，坚持为社会大众提供免费的中医药服务，传承中医文化，服务社区民众。
东华三院署理公共服务办公室主管吴耀汉先生在致辞中表示，东华三院与同济医院的发展历程十分相似。东华医院成立于1870年，经过一个多世纪的发展，如今已发展成为拥有五所医院的大型慈善机构，并提供中西医医疗服务、住院服务以及多元化社会及公共服务，为香港社会作出贡献。
交流过程中，双方也共同回顾了一段珍贵的历史渊源。早年同济医院为了培养本地中医人才，每三年举办一次中医师考试。当时考试试卷由香港东华医院资深医师负责命题。同济医师完成考试后，会将考生姓名遮盖，再将试卷寄回香港，由东华医师负责评阅，以确保评分公平公正。这项跨越两地的学术合作，为新加坡中医药人才培养作出了重要贡献。时至今日，回顾这段超过126年的情谊与支持，更显得弥足珍贵，也值得我们深深感恩。
此次来访的东华三院代表主要来自公共服务体系，包括庙宇管理、文化推广、殡仪服务、社区服务及公共事务等部门。双方就公益医疗、社区服务、慈善事业及机构管理经验进行了深入交流，并期待未来进一步加强联系，促进合作，共同推动华人慈善公益事业的发展。
❤️ 百余年来，同济医院与东华三院虽分处新加坡与香港两地，却同样秉持济世助人的初心，在医疗、慈善与社会服务领域默默耕耘，造福社会。此次交流不仅加深了双方的友谊，也为未来在公益医疗、中医药发展及社会服务等领域的合作开启新的篇章。
【Hong Kong Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Delegation Visits Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution】
On 2 June, Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution had the honour of welcoming a 17-member delegation from the Hong Kong Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) for an exchange visit.
The programme included a tour of the Thong Chai Building and Historical Gallery, screening of the institution’s introduction video and theme song, sharing sessions, and a souvenir exchange. The visit strengthened mutual understanding and celebrated a friendship that spans over a century. Representing Thong Chai Medical Institution were Honorary Secretary Mr. Low Theng Whee, together with Board members, management, and medical staff.
During the welcoming ceremony, Honorary Secretary Mr. Low Theng Whee extended a warm welcome and shared the history and mission of Thong Chai Medical Institution, which was founded in 1867 and has served the community for 159 years through free Traditional Chinese Medicine services.
Mr. Ng Yiu Hon, Acting Head of Traditional Services Office of TWGHs, shared that Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, founded in 1870, has grown into a major charitable organisation operating five hospitals and providing a wide range of medical and community services in Hong Kong.
Both sides also reflected on their long historical connection, including the early Chinese medicine physician examinations jointly conducted between the two institutions more than 126 years ago, a symbol of enduring academic and professional collaboration.
The visiting delegation mainly represented TWGHs’ Traditional Services office, including temple and ritualistic, traditional cultural, funeral and burial services. The exchange included discussions on charitable healthcare, community service, and future collaboration opportunities.
This meaningful visit further strengthened the long-standing relationship between Thong Chai Medical Institution and TWGHs, opening new possibilities for future cooperation in healthcare and community service.
