Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan Prominent pioneers such as Mr Lim Nee Soon, founder of the TPIHK were instrumental in the country’s early economic growth.

新加坡潮州八邑会馆于1929年成立，在册会员6000余名，来自各行各业，包括各界社会贤达，是新加坡宗乡社团中会员人数最多的会馆，也是代表新加坡70万潮人的最高组织。

八邑会馆是潮州方言族群的地缘性会馆。“八邑”指过去属潮州府的八个县，即潮安、揭阳、澄海、潮阳、普宁、惠来、饶平和南澳。

坐落于登路的潮州大厦这座具有历史意义的建筑物，潮州八邑会馆属下设文教、会员、国内外事务、青年、潮女、商业投资和公益等功能组别，并通过各种社会、经济和教育渠道，积极推广潮州文化和潮州人的认同感。

潮州人占新加坡华人人口的20%，对新加坡各方面的发展起着深远的影响。著名先驱人物，如会馆的创始人林义顺等都对新加坡经济发展做出巨大的贡献。他们是成功商人，也是备受敬仰的社区领袖。

Founded in 1929, the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (TPIHK) is the larg

est Chinese clan association, representing some 600,000 Teochew people in Singapore. “Poit Ip” refers to the eight Teochew districts in Guangdong, China. “Huay Kuan” means "clan association". TPIHK has a membership strength of more than 5,000 local Teochews from all walks of life and include prominent figures in both the private and public sectors. Located at the historic Teochew Building along Tank Road, TPIHK set up seven (7) functional committees, namely the Culture and Education, Membership, Local and International Affairs, Youth, Ladies, Business Investments and Charities Committees to actively promote Teochew culture and identity through various social, economic, and educational channels. Comprising 20% of Singapore’s Chinese population, the Teochews in Singapore have had a profound influence in the development of Singapore. They were merchants by trade and also well-respected leaders with the community.

八邑会馆2026年度第三次会员交流会

8 月 15 日，新加坡潮州八邑会馆举办 2026 年度第三次会员交流会。本次活动特别邀约近期入会的一众新会员到场参与，由会员组主任邹杰威主持，现场为大家介绍会馆发展历程与各项会务活动；青年团团长陈俊元亦到场分享，详细介绍潮女组以及各小组的长期活动，让与会者对会馆各板块工作有更立体的认识。

聚会氛围轻松融洽，到场会员轮番自我介绍，畅谈加入会馆的期待与想法。借着这次相聚，会馆与会员彼此加深认识，也收集到大家宝贵的意见，期待未来有更多伙伴一同投身、支持会馆的各项活动。

On 15th August, the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan held its third Member Engagement Session of 2026. New members were invited to join. Membership Committee Chairman Alvin Chow introduced the Huay Kuan’s history and activities. Youth Committee Chairman Mark Tan also shared about the Youth Group, Ladies Committee and other groups.

The session was relaxed and welcoming. Members introduced themselves and shared their thoughts. It was a good opportunity to get to know one another. The Huay Kuan also gathered valuable feedback and looks forward to more members joining and supporting its activities.

汕大狮城探索之行交流团莅临本会 共叙潮乡情谊

8月10日，汕头大学国际教育学院李宝华教授率汕大狮城探索之行交流团莅临新加坡潮州八邑会馆参访交流, 本会国内外事务组负责接待。会长拿督斯里吴木興博士BBM(L)、总务兼国内外事务组副主席黄朝群、外事兼国内外事务组副主席陈森泉，以及国内外事务组组委杨胜栋，组员郑金福、陈伟文、翁鼎朕、陈俊强等人全程热情接待，开展真挚融洽的座谈交流。

吴木興会长致欢迎辞，介绍了本会近百年的发展历程与服务宗旨，回顾去年联合新加坡社会科学大学（SUSS）组团赴汕头大学研学的丰硕经历，期许中新两地持续深化互动、互通资源、凝聚潮力。随后，李宝华教授提及汕头大学与新加坡潮人社群的深厚渊源，期待双方持续深化校企联动、常态化开展研学互访活动；企业代表杜雪迎女士结合自身文旅产业经验分享行业发展态势，她表示本次到访汇聚了各行各业的潮籍乡亲，期盼依托会馆优质平台，打通跨行业交流通道、搭建多元合作桥梁，助力两地企业互通互助、共谋发展。

座谈会尾声，来访团各位嘉宾依次自我介绍，分享各自行业领域与发展优势，积极交流探讨。整场活动乡情浓厚，有效拉近两地潮人情谊，为中新校企、企业间的深度交流与务实合作筑牢了良好基础。

On 10 August, Professor Dennis Lee of Shantou University’s School of International Education led the university’s Singapore study delegation on a visit to Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan Singapore. The delegation was warmly received by the Huay Kuan’s Local & International Affairs Committee. President Dato’ Seri Dr Derek Goh BBM(L) and committee members joined the welcoming session and engaged in warm and cordial discussions with the delegation. President Derek Goh shared the Huay Kuan’s nearly century-long history and mission. He also recalled last year’s study visit to Shantou University with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and expressed hope for closer exchanges and resource sharing between Singapore and Shantou.

Professor Dennis Lee highlighted the strong ties between Shantou University and the Singapore Teochew community. He looked forward to more school-industry partnerships and regular study visits. Ms Du Xueying, a business representative, also shared insights from the tourism and cultural sector. The visiting delegates then introduced themselves and exchanged views on their respective fields. The visit strengthened ties between the two Teochew communities and laid a good foundation for future cooperation in education and business.

8月5日，新加坡潮州八邑会馆国内外事务组于东海岸珍宝海鲜餐厅举办小组聚餐，现场氛围轻松融洽。大家提前喜迎新加坡国庆，同时为组别八月生辰同仁集体庆生，本会会长拿督斯里吴木興博士 BBM (L)，副会长、国内外事务组主席沈茂强也一同出席，众人共同切蛋糕，共享欢聚时刻。国内外事务组成立于 2013 年，致力凝聚潮人力量、搭建国际联系，积极参与社区与国家事务，打造出 “亚洲潮人企业家奖”“潮商大师班” 等重点项目，持续拓展全球潮人网络，提升会馆的社会公共影响力。

On 5 August, the Local and International Affairs Committee of Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (Singapore) held a gathering at Jumbo Seafood, East Coast. Members came together to celebrate Singapore’s National Day in advance and celebrated the birthdays of colleagues born in August. President Dato’ Seri Dr Derek Goh BBM(L) and Vice President and Chairman of the LIA Committee, Mr Kenny Sim, also joined the gathering. Everyone came together to cut the birthday cake and enjoy the evening. Established in 2013, the group is dedicated to strengthening global Teochew connections and has launched key initiatives such as the Asian Teochew Entrepreneur Award and Teochew Business Masters Programme, further expanding the global Teochew network.

育才启新篇 会馆颁发首届勤学奖

8月2日，新加坡潮州八邑会馆举办首届「勤学奖」颁奖典礼，特邀内政部兼社会及家庭发展部高级政务部长吴培铭担任主宾。吴培铭部长致辞，赞许本地潮州社群长久投身公益的传统，并引述“十年树木，百年树人”，肯定会馆育才初心。会长吴木興介绍，本届勤学奖收到58份有效申请，经评审共有55名潮籍学子获奖，奖金总额4万6500元；会馆自今年起设立勤学奖专项基金，覆盖小学至大学各阶段学子，奖项面向符合资质的潮籍在读学生，以期减轻学子求学压力，鼓励勤学奋进，传承潮州文化。

On 2 August, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan （Singapore） held its inaugural Academic Diligence Award 2026 Presentation Ceremony. Mr Goh Pei Ming, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development, attended as the Guest of Honour. The inaugural award received 58 valid applications, with 55 Teochew students receiving a total of S$46,500. The newly established Award Fund supports eligible Teochew students from primary school to university, helping to ease their financial burden, encourage academic excellence, and preserve Teochew culture.

目 的：
1. 提高学员对潮语的掌握能力；
2. 通过潮语了解潮人的历史、文化及风土民情

Objective:
• Enhance students' proficiency in the Teochew dialect;
• Discover the history, culture, and local customs of the Teochew people through the Teochew dialect.

携手「四海同歌」潮语歌曲大赛 共扬潮语文化

8 月 2 日，广东省潮州商会「四海同歌」潮语歌曲大赛组委会方云帆主任一行莅临新加坡潮州八邑会馆。本会会长拿督斯里吴木興博士BBM (L)、总务黄朝群、副总务陈坤成、文教组主任陈丽卿等热情接待，双方围绕赛事落地、海外联动及潮州文化推广展开深度洽谈。

座谈上，吴木興会长提及今年3月双方已就潮州文化传承深入探讨，本届「四海同歌」潮语歌曲大赛旨在弘扬潮语文化，与会馆宗旨不谋而合。会长亦以热映电影《给阿嬷的情书》及其主题曲为例，表示潮语音乐是吸引年轻群体认识潮语的绝佳载体，文化传承需要创新，吸引青年主动参与传播。方云帆主任介绍，「四海同歌」潮语歌曲大赛为国际性赛事，集结全球各地潮人参与，赛事规模宏大，致力以潮歌搭建海内外潮籍乡亲交流平台，推动潮语文化走向世界。会谈尾声，两会正式签署合作协议。

此次合作协议的签订，标志着双方携手推进新加坡赛区筹备工作。期待借助本次潮语歌曲大赛，凝聚本地潮籍乡情力量，以音乐为纽带，联动全球潮人，共同传承与推广璀璨的潮汕文化。

On 2 August, a delegation led by Mr Fang Yunfan, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Teochew Song Competition under the Guangdong Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce, visited Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan Singapore. The delegation was warmly received by President Derek Goh and the Huay Kuan leadership. Both sides discussed the Singapore edition of the competition, international collaboration and the promotion of Teochew culture.

During the meeting, President Derek Goh said the competition shares the Huay Kuan’s mission of promoting the Teochew language and culture. He noted that Teochew music is an effective way to engage younger generations. Mr Fang Yunfan introduced the competition as a global platform that brings together Teochews from around the world through music. Both organisations officially signed a cooperation agreement and will work together to organise the Singapore edition and further promote Teochew culture worldwide.

会馆首届勤学奖颁发 鼓励潮籍学子勤奋学习

8月 2 日，新加坡潮州八邑会馆举办首届「勤学奖」颁奖典礼，特邀内政部兼社会及家庭发展部高级政务部长吴培铭担任颁奖嘉宾，圆满完成本次育才公益活动。

典礼上，吴培铭部长发表致辞，高度肯定本地潮州社群百年深耕公益的优良传统，当中包括提供奖学金、施医赠药和扶贫济困等，对国家慈善公益所做的贡献有口皆碑。同时他援引 “十年树木，百年树人”，肯定八邑基金会的公益育才初心，强调每一笔助学资金，都是培育本土人才、回馈社会的重要力量。

潮州八邑会馆会长吴木興在会上表示，本届勤学奖共收到 58 份有效申请，经严谨审核后，55 名潮籍学子顺利获奖，总奖金达 4 万 6500 元。会馆自今年起设立勤学奖专项基金，惠及从小学到大学各教育阶段的学生。奖项面向新加坡公民与永久居民、父母一方为潮州籍、符合家庭收入标准的在读学生，旨在切实减轻潮籍学子教育负担，勉励学子勤学笃行、追求卓越，在精进学业的同时坚守潮人根脉，传承弘扬优秀潮州文化。

On 2 August, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (Singapore) held its inaugural Academic Diligence Award 2026 Presentation Ceremony. Mr Goh Pei Ming 吴培铭, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development, attended as the Guest of Honour. He commended the Teochew community’s long-standing commitment to philanthropy, including scholarships, medical aid and community support. He also praised the Foundation’s dedication to nurturing future generations.

President Derek Goh shared that 55 out of 58 applicants received the Diligence Award, with a total of S$46,500 awarded. Launched this year, the award supports Teochew students from primary school to university. It aims to ease financial burdens, encourage academic excellence, and inspire the younger generation to preserve and promote Teochew culture.

《给阿嬷的情书》掀潮语热 七月基础班座无虚席

7 月 30 日，新加坡潮州八邑会馆【潮州日常会话-基础班】7月班正式开班！课堂座无虚席，近期潮语电影《给阿嬷的情书》掀起潮语学习热潮，不仅大批年轻潮籍乡亲踊跃报名，不少喜爱潮州文化的非潮籍友人也前来参与，现场氛围热烈。会馆长期携手新传媒前电台主持人林仰忠老师开设潮语课程，以轻松有趣的互动教学，带领大家感受地道潮语独特魅力。

本潮语基础班为期六周，每周四开课。会馆持续推广传承潮州乡音，欢迎所有热爱潮语、钟情潮州文化的朋友踊跃报名参与，一同守护潮声文脉。

On 30th July, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (Singapore) launched its Daily Conversation in Teochew (Elementary) Class. The class was fully booked. The recent Teochew-language film “Dear You” sparked growing interest in learning Teochew. Many young Teochews enrolled. Friends from other dialect groups who are interested in Teochew culture also joined. The Huay Kuan continues to partner with former RTS/SBC DJ Lim Ngian Tiong, who leads the class through fun and interactive lessons.

The course runs for 6 weeks and is held every Thursday. The Huay Kuan remains committed to promoting and preserving the Teochew language. Everyone who loves the Teochew language and culture is welcome to join and help keep this rich heritage alive.

吴木興会长访北京潮联会 聚力全球潮人事业

7月25日，国际潮团总会主席、新加坡潮州八邑会馆会长拿督斯里吴木興博士BBM(L)一行到访北京潮人海外联谊会，受到潮联会领导团队及一众乡贤同仁的热情接待。新京两地潮籍乡亲欢聚一堂，跨越山海叙乡情，搭建起深度联动的友好桥梁。

座谈交流中，国际潮团总会执行主席、北京潮人海外联谊会执行会长林辉勇介绍了潮联会深耕乡情联结、潮州文化传承、海内外潮人资源对接的核心会务，期望推动双方建立常态化交流机制，整合各方优势资源，携手凝聚潮人力量、弘扬潮州文脉。随后，吴木興会长阐述会馆从帮扶乡邻到深耕文化、社群、跨境交流的发展蜕变。他表示，潮人素来守望相助、凝心聚力，期待两会持续深化多元合作，携手赋能全球潮人事业蓬勃发展。

本次京新两地潮团友好会晤，进一步拉近了海内外潮乡情谊，为后续双方资源共享、文化共传、事业共兴搭建了优质平台，助力全球潮人社群凝心聚力、携手前行。

On 25 July, a delegation led by Dato’ Seri Dr Derek Goh BBM(L), President of the Teochew International Convention and President of Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan （Singapore） , visited the Beijing Chaozhou Natives Overseas Association. The delegation was warmly received by the Association’s leaders and fellow Teochews. Both sides gathered to renew friendship and strengthen ties between Beijing and Singapore.

During the meeting, Mr Lim Hui Yong, Executive President of the Teochew International Covention and Executive President of the Beijing Chaozhou Natives Overseas Association, introduced the Association’s work in strengthening community ties, preserving Teochew culture, and connecting Teochews worldwide. He expressed hope for closer and regular exchanges between both organisations. President Derek Goh shared the Huay Kuan’s journey from serving the community to promoting culture, youth development, and international engagement. He hoped both organisations would deepen cooperation, share resources, and work together to strengthen the global Teochew community.
