Create Foundation is a non-profit advocating for digital inclusion in the Philippines.

We help bridge the digital divide so that every Filipino will have the opportunity and capability to use technology to live a comfortable and meaningful life.

At Create Foundation, we believe that technology, especially for offline communities, is like a second language. To be able to speak that language, basic literacy and numeracy skills are primarily required. 💻📚

This perspective is backed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which states that foundational literacy and numeracy are critical and strong predictors of digital problem-solving skills.

This is why we launched Project CLIMB (Create Learning in Mountain Barangays), a digital readiness initiative under our Create Library program. Focusing on remote upland communities, we foster digital readiness by distributing literacy and numeracy materials and, eventually, digital tools.

In 2026, we aim to implement three Project CLIMBs! 🏔️✨

Create Foundation’s first Project CLIMB in Lanao del Sur! ⛰️

In May 2025, we partnered with the Tadz and Tina Mountaineering Group to deliver literacy and numeracy materials to a remote upland school in Lanao del Sur.

In 2026, we aim to implement three more Project CLIMBs and bring digital readiness to other upland communities. 🏔️🚀

Project CLIMB or Create Learning in Mountain Barangays is a digital readiness initiative under our Create Library program focusing in upland communities. We believe that technology in many of these areas is like a second language. And to be able to speak a second language, basic literacy and numeracy skills are primarily required.

Globally, women only make up 29% of the tech workforce and 14% of the tech leadership. In the Philippines, the participation of girls and women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as learners and workers remain very low.

In our Quarter 1 News, we highlight the work of Create Foundation in not only bridging the digital divide, but also, specifically, bridging the gender digital divide. One feature here is the Create Hub-SFLC for Aeta students in Subic. Zambales, that could especially provide opportunities for Aeta girls to pursue a future in tech. : 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗙𝗚𝗗𝘀) 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗢𝗦 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼!

On 31 March to 1 April 2026, we were at SOS Children's Village Iloilo to conduct FGDs with house parents and aunts on Day 1, as well as with the youth council and children on Day 2. These are part of our pre-space development stage of Create Hub inside the SOS village to help ensure that our project is consultative and participative.

We are building Create Hub-SOS Iloilo for the children and youth residing at SOS Children's Village Iloilo and as we determined from our interaction with the house parents and aunts, for their digital skilling, too. They especially requested specific training courses so they can keep up with their children.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁? Drop your reactions below!

The Internet has become an indispensable tool on how people live. And in our efforts to make the Internet inclusive, we also need to ensure that the online world is safe.

In 2022, the Philippines ranked 5th in the region for phishing attacks, with a 169.93% surge reported by cybersecurity firm, Kaspersky. A U-Report Poll on Safer Internet 2025 also found that 85.56% of Filipino children and youth regularly encounter unsafe content or behavior online — with more than half saying it happens multiple times.

With 75% of Filipinos now online, knowing how to secure the digital space isn't optional anymore. It's necessary.

Create Foundation joins the global Safer Internet 2026, and in particular, in the Philippines, to champion cybersafety for young users. The 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 (𝗢𝗦𝗕𝗦) campaign is our Digital Literacy initiative under Create ASPIRE that trains for the safe and proper use of online spaces.

37,117 pesos raised for Project CLIMB by CIIT NSTP-LTS Students in three months!

On 27 March 2026, three LTS (Literacy Training Service) sections of CIIT NSTP turned over the funds they raised to Create Foundation. Tink-a -Trink (LTS 10) made and sold trinkets and raised 21,000 pesos; Doodle Booth (LTS 11) offered realtime portrait sketches and raised 4,396 pesos; and Ink-a-Pin (LTS 12) customized pins and raised 11,721 pesos. Truly a demonstration that talent and an entrepreneurial spirit can support a tangible commitment in helping solve the learning crisis in the Philippines.

The proceeds will go to funding Project CLIMB (Create Learning In Mountain Barangays), a project under Create Library, the digital readiness program of Create Foundation.
