Jury, our Coin Grantee from Leyte, is ! 🌐

Jury, 20, dreams of becoming an educator. Now in her third year of college, that dream is within reach — but getting there means she needs more support and access to the digital tools required for her course.

With the Coin Grant, she now has a personal laptop and reliable internet for her studies, bringing her one step closer to becoming a full-fledged teacher.

Behind every inclusion story we share is a list of organizations that make it possible for us to operate with ease. Each of them verified our nonprofit status and awarded us partial or full access to their tools — help that has supported two years of our work. 🧡

We're grateful to Google for Google Workspace, Connecteam for our virtual office, TechSoup for tech product discounts, Zoho for Zoho Sign, Canva for simple editing and graphics, and Wix for hosting our website, giving nonprofits like us the resources to do more with less.

At Create Foundation, we believe that technology — especially for non-digital natives — is like a second language. To speak that language, basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential.

This International Literacy Day, we once again recognize the importance of literacy skills in giving individuals a strong chance of success in technology-based tasks. This is affirmed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which identifies foundational literacy and numeracy as critical, strong predictors of digital problem-solving skills.

Meet Jury: Our Coin Grantee from Leyte 💻🌐

Jury, 20, has spent much of her college life juggling more than coursework. From TikTok affiliate marketing to now running her own small business selling fuzzy wire bouquets, she's found ways to fund her dream of becoming an educator. Now in her third year, that dream is within reach — but getting there will take more than she can manage alone.

A Coin Grant would give Jury consistent access to a laptop and reliable internet for her studies and her business alike, helping her become a full-fledged teacher without depending on borrowed equipment.

From education and career opportunities to healthcare and everyday life, owning a computer is no longer a luxury; it is now an absolute necessity. 💻

According to Amy Gonzales, Associate Professor at the University of California, access to large-screen computing devices (like laptops and desktops) is critical to preventing people from being left behind in the digital age (The Importance of Large Device Ownership, 2025).

That’s where our Coin Grant project comes in!

Under our Create ASPIRE program, the Coin (Computer and Internet) Grant provides computer hardware and internet subsidies to students and community workers. We provide individuals who have the digital skills, but lack the financial means to afford their own devices.

Together, we can bridge the digital divide and make computer ownership a reality for all!

: Building digital skills, one session at a time! 💻

Our Create Hub-HOH Hubbers are diving deep into Google Workspace for Beginners during their ongoing ICT course sessions.

Designed for children and youth in Residential Care Facilities (RCFs) and Offline Communities, this component of our Create Hub program builds crucial digital skills for the future. The sessions are customized to their needs and current skill levels, and are held every Saturday!

Create Hub is our flagship program that is primarily designed for children and youth living in residential care facilities (RCFs) and in three other communities — rural, urban poor, and IP communities — who experience digital exclusion. Hubbers, or what we call our Create Hub users, are provided with three core offerings: Tech, ICT Courses, and Arts.
