When sourcing cutting-edge technologies, HKTDC's product curation and business-matching services have proven to be a vital time-saving tool for engineering consulting firm Lin Tung-Yen & Li Guo-Hao Consultants Hong Kong. Established in 1993 as a Sino-American joint venture, the firm undertakes design and consultancy work for major infrastructure projects. Managing Director Yu Lap-chu notes that staying abreast of technology trends is central to the firmโ€™s services, but identifying suitable partners remains challenging.

's mandate to curate and showcase high-quality products and solutions has made a tangible impact. At its flagship technology fair, Yu met with over 30 exhibitors, including Yunsheng Intelligent Tech. Seeing that Yunshengโ€™s drones are well suited to safety inspections on large-scale engineering projects, Yu is considering adopting the technology for one of his current projects.

Earlier this year, Yu identified another potential technology partner when he took part in delegation visits to Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Huizhou as part of HKTDCโ€™s initiative. During the visit, he attended a demonstration by smart agriculture provider Fengnong and is considering recommending the company to clients in East Timor, Fiji and other markets undertaking major agricultural improvement projects.

Following the successful conclusion of the business delegation to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from 1 to 5 June, led by Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee and organised by the , the Alatau City Authority, a state body of Kazakhstan, held the Alatau City Investment Round Table in Hong Kong. The roundtable brought together representatives from government bodies, leading enterprises, financial institutions as well as investors from Kazakhstan and China and members of the business delegation who participated in the Central Asia visit. Participants explored the latest developments, investment opportunities and key initiatives of Alatau City across sectors including fintech, the low-altitude economy, smart city development and infrastructure.

During the Central Asia visit, a total of 96 MoUs and agreements were signed, providing strong support for follow-up exchanges and collaboration. These outcomes have laid a solid foundation for strengthening economic and ties between , the Chinese Mainland, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, underscoring Hong Kong's role as a key platform for Chinese Mainland enterprises to go global while further promoting long-term collaboration with Central Asian markets. The HKTDC will continue to follow up on key projects initiated during the visit, offering professional business matching and support services to facilitate their implementation and assist enterprises in exploring new international opportunities.

The HKTDC will host a Hong Kong Tech Pavilion at 2026, Europeโ€™s premier annual and technology summit in Paris, from 17 to 20 June. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, the Pavilion will bring together 24 Hong Kong start-ups to showcase innovations in artificial intelligence and robotics, health technology and sustainability and climate technology. During the exhibition, the will organise a series of events, including thematic seminars, start-up pitching sessions and networking activities.

This yearโ€™s edition of VivaTech is expected to attract more than 180,000 visitors, 14,000 global start-ups and 3,600 investors, bringing together industry leaders from around the world and serving as a key focal point for the international innovation and technology ecosystem. A business delegation led by Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee and organised by the visited Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan this month. During the visit, the delegation met with senior representatives from the local government and business communities, successfully advancing collaboration opportunities across multiple sectors. To deepen economic and cooperation, the Hong Kong SAR Government and the jointly hosted a business dinner in Uzbekistan, attracting around 230 business leaders and senior officials.

Over the course of the mission, 66 MoUs and agreements were signed, covering areas such as trade, investment, finance, technology and aviation. In addition, 15 cooperation agreements were signed at the government level, while non-delegation members signed 15 MoUs in areas including academia and culture, bringing the total number of agreements and MoUs signed to 96. These outcomes have laid a solid foundation for deepening economic and trade ties among Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, underscoring Hong Kong's role as a key platform for Chinese Mainland enterprises to go global and further promoting long-term collaboration with Central Asian markets.

The HKTDC will follow up on key projects facilitated during the visit by providing professional post-mission business matching and support services, with a view to expediting project implementation while continuing to assist enterprises in exploring further international cooperation opportunities.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the launches the "Design Gallery on the Move" campaign, showcasing Hong Kong brands and design products to residents and visitors over three weeks and highlighting the creativity, diversity and vibrancy of Hong Kong design.
HKTDC Chairman Professor Frederick Ma said, "For six decades, the HKTDC has grown alongside Hong Kong enterprises, guided by a steadfast belief in proactively 'going global' and leading Hong Kong businesses to expand globally. As early as 1967, we travelled to Africa to promote Hong Kong products, converting a cargo truck into a mobile exhibition. Later, when we led the Hong Kong toy industry to participate in the renowned Nuremberg International Toy Fair in Germany but were unable to secure exhibition space, we set up a temporary showroom outside the venue using the same approach, bringing Hong Kong toys onto the international stage. This flexible, resilient and can-do attitude embodies the Lion Rock spirit of Hong Kong".

He added, "The 'Design Gallery on the Move' campaign carries forward this original vision by bringing original Hong Kong brands into communities across Hong Kong and showcasing the creativity and strengths of Hong Kong SMEs.
