Formally launched during the UAP World Architecture Day 2026, we invite all Districts and Chapters to participate in the UAP Project SILONG as an official UAP Philippine Architecture Festival - National Architecture Month Activity.

This meaningful CSR Project seeks to provide one of the basic necessities, shelter, to Filipino marginalized and vulnerable communities, and less fortunate and disaster stricken families.

UAP PROJECT SILONG:
Silong Para sa Bawat Pilipino! 🏠🇵🇭

I. BACKGROUND 🏘️

Architecture is ultimately about people—their safety, dignity, well-being, and quality of life. Among the most basic needs of every Filipino family is a safe and secure home, yet many communities remain vulnerable to harsh weather, heavy rain, and extreme heat due to damaged or inadequate roofs.

In response, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) presents PROJECT SILONG—a nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative brought to life through UAP RAHBA and our dedicated UAP Districts and Chapters.

“Silong” represents protection from the elements. Through this project, Filipino architects use their expertise, resources, and professional network to provide shelter, replacement, and roof repairs—embodying the principle that every Filipino deserves a safe place to live, gather, and worship.

II. CATEGORIES 🗂️

A. SILONG NG PAMAYANAN - Providing or repairing roofing, gutter, and/or downspout to marginalized community's essential facilities/infrastructure.

B. SILONG NG TAHANAN - Providing or repairing roofing, gutter, and/or downspout to less fortunate or disaster stricken family's homes.

C. SILONG NG PANANAMPALATAYA - Providing or repairing roofing, gutter, and/or downspout to places of worship.

III. REGISTRATION GUIDELINES 📒

Completed a Project Silong? Please review the following instructions before logging your activity:

A. One Registration per Initiative: The registration form is identical for both Chapters and Districts. If PROJECT SILONG is conducted as a District Initiative, individual chapters do not need to register separately. The District Director or Secretary may submit the form once on behalf of all participating chapters.

B. Prepare Requirements in Advance: To ensure a smooth process, please gather your Chapter/District logo, photo and video documentation, and your social media post link before opening the form.

C. Media Upload Checklist:

1. Photos: Prepare five (5) photos that best document your Project Silong.

Requirement: At least one (1) photo must show volunteers holding the Chapter or District Banner.

2. Videos: Prepare five (5) video clips that are exactly five (5) seconds each.

Requirement: At least one (1) video must capture volunteers holding the Chapter or District Banner while shouting:
"UAP PROJECT SILONG: Silong Para sa Bawat Pilipino!"

3. Social Media Post Link: You will be asked to log in the registration form the social media post's link to your District's or Chapter's Project Silong.

Stepping back into history to frame the future of Filipino architecture! 🏛️✨

Last September 1, 2026, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) PAFNAM 2026 Committee conducted a site inspection and ocular visit at the iconic Goldenberg Mansion within the Malacañang Complex.

The visit forms part of the ongoing preparations for the Opening Program of this year's Philippine Architecture Festival – National Architecture Month (PAFNAM 2026).

Nestled along San Miguel, Manila, the Goldenberg Mansion stands as a magnificent example of 19th-century colonial heritage, blending historical prestige with architectural mastery.

Built around the 1870s by the Eugster family and later revamped by Spanish official José Moreno Lacalle, the mansion is a celebrated example of Moorish Revival architecture in the Philippines. It seamlessly fuses traditional Bahay na Bato proportions—such as wide arcaded verandas, capiz shell windows, and high ceilings—with exotic Islamic-inspired decorative arches and intricate woodwork. Its construction represents a dynamic blend of indigenous and imported materials: rich Philippine hardwoods, imported pre-fabricated Belgian steel, Italian marble, and Spanish bricks.

The structure underwent a major restoration in the 1960s under National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin. More recently (2022–2023), it was revitalized through heritage restoration efforts led by Arch. Michael Manalo and Arch. Jonathan Matti, transforming it into a thriving public cultural venue of the Malacañang grounds.

As we honor our rich built heritage, the Goldenberg Mansion serves as the perfect backdrop to kick off PAFNAM 2026—celebrating the ingenuity, identity, and evolution of the Filipino architectural profession.

Last August 19, the UAP PAFNAM Committee joined forces with various UAP committees for the 3rd Coordination Meeting spearheaded by the Commission on Internal Affairs, driving key preparations forward for the first ever UAP Industry Partners Forum that was held on August 27.
