STATEMENT | to the Allegations Raised by the 18 Marines During the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Hearing | June 4, 2026

We issue this statement in response to allegations made during a Senate committee hearing today in which Rev. Fr. Flaviano Antonio L. Villanueva, SVD, was specifically accused of receiving money through an envelope allegedly delivered near a church on Mindanao Avenue, Quezon City, and through a suitcase allegedly delivered to an address identified as “33 Clemente.”

We categorically deny these allegations. They are false.

The witness publicly attributed to Fr. Villanueva acts and transactions that never occurred.

The allegation involving a supposed delivery near a church on Mindanao Avenue collapses on its own facts. No specific church was identified, and no SVD parish, church, or ministry center exists along Mindanao Avenue, Quezon City that matches the witness’s description.

The allegation involving the supposed delivery of a suitcase at “33 Clemente” is unsupported by any evidence and is nothing more than a fabricated accusation.

These allegations are not merely false. They are malicious, defamatory, and a grave injustice against a priest who has devoted his life to serving the poor, accompanying EJK victims and their families, and defending the dignity of those whose voices are often unheard.

We strongly condemn the reckless public airing of serious accusations unsupported by evidence and contradicted by readily verifiable facts. No person’s reputation should be placed on trial on the basis of allegations that cannot withstand the most basic scrutiny.

Fr. Villanueva has long endured attacks because he chose to stand beside victims of violence and to give voice to those who could not speak for themselves. We will not allow decades of faithful ministry to be tarnished by fabricated stories and reckless accusations.

Legal action has already been initiated. We intend to hold accountable those who have chosen to bear false witness.

Fr. Villanueva will continue his ministry undeterred and will continue to stand with the poor, with victims, and with those who seek truth and justice.

Truth deserves protection.

And those who deliberately defame others in the guise of testimony must likewise be held accountable. END///

As we celebrate Easter today, we look back on these moments from the Washing of the Feet during the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper—a sacred commemoration of Christ’s Last Supper with His disciples.

Led by Fr. Flavie L. Villanueva, Founder and President of the Arnold Janssen Kalinga Foundation, we gathered with the homeless and widows of extrajudicial killings, together with our partners and volunteers who continue to serve with compassion and dedication.

The Washing of the Feet stands as a powerful symbol of humility, service, and transformation. This year, we honor not only those who sustain our mission through their generosity, but also our beneficiaries—especially former homeless individuals—whose lives have been transformed and restored with dignity.

As we rejoice in the Resurrection, we give thanks to everyone who tirelessly walks with us in this mission of love, healing, and service. May these acts of humility remind us that true faith is lived through serving others.

Happy Easter! The Lord is Risen! Alleluia! ✨

Today, we celebrate the victory of life over death,
light over darkness, and truth over every lie.

Christ’s Resurrection is the heart of our faith—
a living promise that God is with us,
renewing us, restoring us, and calling us to rise again in hope.

May this Easter fill our hearts with courage to love,
strength to believe, and grace to become witnesses of His light in the world.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

(Easter Message of Fr. Flavie L. Villanueva, SVD)

LOOK! We’re proud to share that the Office of SVD-JPIC through AJ Kalinga Foundation has provided Caritas Virac Justice and Peace Inc. with 6 motorized bancas—complete with gasoline engines, bamboo outriggers, propellers, propeller shafts, and steering handles.

These will empower target fisherfolk, boosting their daily operations, livelihoods, and family resilience for safer, more productive fishing in coastal communities.

Through the efforts of “Kalinga Sa Unos” SVD-JPIC Central Province—and heartfelt gratitude to our partners at Caritas Virac and generous donors. Together, we’re building stronger, thriving lives! ❤️

Seven inspiring former homeless graduated today from the Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center Beneficiary Volunteer program, known as BeVolts. After seven months of dedicated training at the Catholic Trade Building in Tayuman, these former homeless mens marked their Batch 11 milestone. The ceremony embodied the vision of founder and president Fr. Flavie L. Villanueva, SVD, a 2025 Ramon Magsaysay Award winner who champions the mission of “providing second chances in restoring dignify” for all, especially those in the margins.

Launched in 2015, the Kalinga Center first provided essential needs like showers, buffet meals, and means to recreate one’s self image and self-respect. It opened with a blessing from then-Archbishop of Manila, His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle. In 2017, Fr. Flavie expanded it the program with beneficiary volunteers. Participants build skills through workshops, life guidance, and DepEd’s Alternative Learning System (ALS), leading to jobs with partner organizations. From “showers and buffets”, the second phase of offering education and skills training allows former homeless individuals to reclaim their one’s self-respect.

Batch 11’s graduates now carry a newfound confidence and purpose. They stand ready for employment, proving small kindnesses fuel big transformations against homelessness. This completes the cycle of restoring one’s self-worth and dignity.

Once scattered on the streets, Jonathan now builds toward a dignified future with work ahead.

Fr. Flavie Villanueva glowed with pride: “Today we held the graduation of Batch 11 Beneficiary Volunteers. They are former homeless individuals who committed to the human development formation program of the Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center, transforming their lives from streets to a dignified life.”
