Philippine Cybersecurity Union of I T and Computer Science Professionals Expanding your IT expertise ? try the Cybersecurity path. This field is still relatively less-established and we want more people to embrace this career.

We are building a new breed of Computer Science and Information Technology Professionals who are interested in gaining cybersecurity knowledge and skills. We are also inviting cybersecurity and other tech security related professionals to join the group.

Meet Our Speaker: Christian Villapando

We are honored to welcome Christian Villapando, Cybersecurity Consultant at Red Rock IT Security Inc., to the 3rd Annual Philippine CERT/CSIRT Conference (CERTCON 2025)!

Christian leads pe*******on testing, red and purple team engagements, and comprehensive security assessments that help organizations strengthen their cyber defenses. He is also a SANS Instructor for SEC560: Enterprise Pe*******on Testing, where he shares real-world expertise gained from years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity.

Holding the GSE (GIAC Security Expert)—one of the most prestigious credentials in the field—along with multiple advanced certifications and a Master’s degree in Information Security, Christian brings over seven years of experience across both the public and private sectors. Passionate about education, he also teaches cybersecurity at various universities, mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

At CERTCON 2025, happening November 5–7, 2025, Christian will share his insights under the theme:
“From Innovation to Protection: Innovating Security, Empowering Progress.”

Protect your hard-earned money. Beware of fake banking texts and links.

- Never ignore cyber awareness reminders for safety online.
- Ignore any links you see on your SMS.
- Disable virtual debit/credit card when not in use. This feature exists in most banks now.
- When in public use your phone internet / data when logging to your bank account.
- Use official apps and enable transaction alerts.
- Regularly review statements and reconcile small/odd transactions immediately.
- Scammers create fake bank alerts to steal passwords. Stop. Think. Verify.
- Update your device OS.
