This week, we were in Davao to launch our Kaagapay Training, bringing together more than 100 parents and Barangay Education Workers (BEWs)!

In partnership with AHA Learning Center, the Santa Cruz Local Government Unit, and the Schools Division Office, the training equipped parents with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to embrace their role as co-educators. 👩🏻‍🏫✏️

Through sessions on socio-emotional development, positive discipline, bullying awareness, and practical academic strategies, parents gained tools to better support their children's learning and help them thrive in school.

This week, we officially launched Phase 3 of Happy si Mommy, Malusog si Baby in Bataan! As the final phase of our First 1,000 Days program supporting mothers and their babies, we’re focusing on nurturing early language and literacy development—helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. 📚❤️

Together with our partner, Adarna Group Foundation Inc., we held an interactive read-aloud session for mothers, while our San Miguel Foods employees shared the joy of storytelling with the children.

To inspire a lifelong love for reading, each family received books to take home, along with Mingo meals to support better nutrition! Thank you to Adarna and our San Miguel employees for making this possible!

Education is everyone’s shared responsibility.

In our latest Better World Leadership Series, Senator Bam Aquino and Dr. Karol Mark Yee, Executive Director of EDCOM 2, unpacked the realities behind the Philippines’ education crisis, discussed the reforms and policies being implemented, and, more importantly, highlighted the need for a whole-of-society response.

The challenges are complex, but we remain hopeful. When government, educators, communities, families, the private sector, and citizens work together, we can help ensure that every learner has access to quality education and the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Thank you to our volunteers from the Office of the General Counsel, Corporate Information and Technology Management, and the Data Analytics Group for generously donating 300 sets of school supplies to the children of Better World Tondo and Smokey Mountain! 📚

We wrapped up Pride Month with Kulay at Kwento—a celebration of courage, resilience, and the power of belonging. 🌈🌟

More than a celebration, this event was a reminder of the importance of creating safe, inclusive spaces where everyone can confidently be who they are, access the care they need, and know that they are valued.

We kicked off the day with a health education session and free HIV/STI testing for our community members. The celebration continued with an electrifying lineup of drag performances by the incredible queens of Harong, bringing joy and artistry to the stage!

We closed the event with an inspiring conversation featuring Tita Baby and Maria Cristina, who shared their personal journeys, the challenges they've overcome, and powerful stories of hope, courage, and self-acceptance. Their voices reminded us why representation and community matter.

What a busy yet incredibly meaningful weekend across our Better World communities! 💙

Last Saturday, our Team Malasakit volunteers from San Miguel Aerocity spent time tutoring children in Tondo, while volunteers from the Cement Group and San Miguel Yamamura Packaging came together with our Smokey Mountain community for a wonderful Family Day volunteer activity.
