Our Family Day volunteer activities provide meaningful opportunities for our employee volunteers to support community members with errands and household chores while getting to know them on a deeper level and building deeper connections. Team Malasakit volunteer Beth had a wonderful time during last weekend’s immersion—check out our reel to learn more! 😊❤️

Today, our entrepreneurs from Better World Tondo and Smokey Mountain participated in an EntrePinoy session led by volunteers from San Miguel Yamamura Packaging!

Through lessons on good manufacturing processes and quality control, our members gained valuable insights that they can apply to their microbusinesses.

Initiatives like this support the growth of our Better World members as entrepreneurs by strengthening their skills and boosting their confidence!

When we launched the Better World Fellowship last year, the goal was clear: to build a leadership accelerator that nurtures socially aware, empowered, and action-oriented employees committed to driving meaningful change—within San Miguel and beyond.

Our pioneering batch of 10 fellows, representing various SMC business units, took part in sessions designed to equip them with the tools and confidence to drive impact. We closed out the program with our fellows presenting their capstone projects to SMC President and COO Paul Ang.

A huge thank you to our partner, Work In Progress (WIP), and to our mentors and speakers for generously sharing their time and expertise with our fellows:

- Senator Bam Aquino
- Marite Irvine — Ateneo Research Institute for the Futures of Education (RIFE)
- Dani Nakpil — Clay Ventures
- Mark Ruiz — Social Entrepreneur, Hapinoy
- Angela Delantar — Wadhwani Foundation
- Poch Espina — Futures Inc.
- Elvin Uy — Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP)
- Hanky Lee — Entrepreneur, Henry Hotels

At our Better World communities, learning is for everyone—no matter the age or stage of life. 🌟

Together with our partners AHA Learning Center, Upskills+ Foundation Inc., and Project Pearls, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our community members who completed their classes and training. Their success is a testament to their determination and their lifelong passion for learning!

Our first Backyard Bukid in Visayas has found its home at Antipolo Elementary School in Albuera, Leyte! This brings our total to nine community farms nationwide! 🌱

The team of 25 is composed of parents, barangay officials, and staff—all of whom have come together as community farmers. Through every Backyard Bukid, we aim to help augment food for the community while also providing an additional source of income for our farmers.

Thank you to our volunteers from San Miguel Foods and our partner, SEED Philippines, for empowering our community farmers!

At a young age, access to mental health support and growing up in a safe, stable environment can help children thrive and improve their overall well-being. Our partner, Childfam Possibilities Psychosocial Services, held the first Likha at Laro session for our Smokey Mountain kids last Saturday, helping them express who they are and how they feel through arts and crafts.

Through consistent and accessible mental health interventions, we know that our Better World kids will learn to better cope with everyday stressors, develop self-awareness, and understand how to manage their emotions. 🤍
