Cats of CGS We are not a shelter nor a rescue group. We are just a group of 5 volunteers trying to help strays around CGS with the community's support.

Hey guys, we need to talk about a pretty heavy cloud hanging over us right now. 😿💔

As much as we love looking after our neighborhood strays, the financial reality of rescue work always catches up. Over the past year, our hearts got a little bigger. On top of our usual feline residents, we also stepped up to rescue, treat, and feed a few stray dogs who had nowhere else to go. 🐶❤️

Because we refuse to turn away an animal in pain, our outstanding vet bill has hit a staggering ₱31,000.

Our partner clinic has been incredibly patient with us, but we’ve hit a wall. We can't handle new emergencies or continue ongoing treatments if we don’t clear this balance. 🛑

As we shared recently, we are running our Cats of CGS Shirts campaign—and 100% of the profits go directly to wiping out this ₱31k debt.

May balitang may isang resident daw na nagpapaalis ng mga stray dogs sa paligid ng CGS dahil “nakaka-cheap” daw sila sa image ng community.

Ayon sa isa sa mga security staff na naka-assign sa labas ng CGS, may resident daw na nagreklamo sa Megaworld Admin tungkol kay Choi, isa sa mga a*o na madalas makita sa may Serenitea/Tapa King area. Natutulog lang si Choi doon, pero gusto daw siyang ipaalis dahil hindi raw magandang tingnan na may stray dog sa paligid.

Honestly, nakakalungkot isipin na ang isang a*o na tahimik lang at walang ginagawang masama ay ituturing na problema dahil lang sa itsura ng lugar. Lalo na't sa maraming upscale communities tulad ng BGC at karamihan ng Ayala Properties, accepted at welcome ang mga community animals.

Para sa mga hindi nakakakilala sa kanya, si Choi ay naging homeless matapos pumanaw ang kanyang owner noong December. Simula noon, naghahanap lang siya ng masisilungan sa may commercial area kapag sobrang init o malakas ang ulan. Hindi siya nanggugulo, hindi siya agresibo, at kadalasan ay natutulog lang sa isang sulok. Marami rin sa ating neighbors, pati staff ng ilang establishments, ang nagbibigay sa kanya ng pagkain at nag-aalaga sa kanya paminsan-minsan.

Susubukan naming makausap ang Megaworld para malaman ang buong detalye ng sitwasyon. Pero sana, huwag naman nilang saktan, itaboy, o ilagay sa panganib si Choi at ang iba pang community dogs, lalo na kung wala naman silang ginagawang abala.

Minsan, madaling sabihin na “stray lang naman yan,” pero sa totoo lang, sila rin ay mga buhay na naghahanap lang ng konting pagkain, lilim, at ligtas na lugar para makapagpahinga.

Reminder lang din na protected ang mga stray animals sa ilalim ng Animal Welfare Act. Labag sa batas ang pananakit, pang-aabuso, at ang pag-relocate sa kanila sa mga lugar na maaaring maglagay sa kanila sa panganib.

At the end of the day, ang tunay na sukatan ng isang magandang community ay hindi kung gaano ito ka-premium tingnan, kundi kung paano nito pinapakita ang malasakit sa mga walang kakayahang ipagtanggol ang sarili nila.

Choi is just a dog looking for a safe place to rest. We hope people show him kindness rather than judgment.

Reported by a concerned neighbor - may mga newborn kittens po na nasa isang kahon, mukang tinapon po sila. Walang mama cat. :(

Baka lang po may makatulong mag rescue sa kanila. Yung reporter po kasi walang capacity to take in rescue kittens and lahat po ng volunteers namin ay naka maximum capacity na din po sa mga foster and rescue :( di rin po sila pwedeng iwan sa open areas within cgs dahil mashadong maliit pa po.

We are checking din po kung may mga clinic or shelter na pwede tumulong, pero if you or anyone you know can help, please do. :( PA SHARE po sa family or friends nyo na makakatulong.

Paalala: Huwag po mag iwan ng kahit anong pagkain para sa communuty cats sa loob ng cgs.

This am, while checking one of the feeding areas, may nakita ang isa naming volunteer na mga pagkaing mukang iniwan para sa community cats: isang supot ng mga tinik ng isda at isang tissue na may nakapatong na slice ng chocolate cake.

Ang chocolate po ay very toxic/nakakala*on sa a*o at pusa. Ang tinik naman po ay di rin safe na ipakain sa pusa dahil maari itong bumara sa kanilang lalamunan or magcause ng internal injuries.

Paalala lang po na wag mag iwan ng kahit anong pagkain para sa mga community cats. May volunteers po tayo na nagpapakain sa kanila daily ng appropriate at safe wet and dry cat food (di po namin sila binibigyan ng human food).

Ang pag iwan ng unauthorized (human food, any perishable food) ay di lang nakakadagdag sa kalat at possible insect or pest problems , maari din itong makasama sa kalusugan ng mga community cats (or sa ating pets kung bigla nilang kainin ang mga naiwang pagkain).

Kung nais nyo pong tumulong magpakain sa ating community cats, pwede po kayo maging official volunteer feeder or pwede po kayo mag donate ng cat food. Just message us for details.

Trigger warning: tuxedo cat fell to dayton 2 mezzanine :(

Is this your cat? He/she was found by our dayton security team at the dayton 2 side of the dayton mezzanine parking. They said the cat possibly fell from dayton 2 5th floor or higher. :(

We have confirmed the cat is not one of the cgs community cats.

If this is your cat, please go to the dayton lobby and coordinate with the security team to retrieve his/her remains. :(
