Continuing fundraiser for Ellie

Today is Ellie's 5th day at the clinic, and unfortunately she is still not well. She has several ulcers in her mouth which makes it painful for her to eat, and her blood chem results show that she is battling kidney issues aside from her anemia. Fortunately, her liver is still ok.

A promising development is she has started trying to eat and drink on her own this morning. Thanks to the vets and staff of MandaVets Animal Clinic are giving her proper care and treatment. We hope she can make more progress in the coming days and make a full recovery soon.

Thanks also to 3 generous neighbors for their gcash donation. We appreciate very much! But we will need to continue our fund raising for Ellie since she will need to extend her stay in the clinic.

Fundraising for Ellie's confinement

Yesterday, one of our volunteers brought Ellie, one of community cats, to MandaVets Animal Clinic. She was weak, and had dried drool on her mouth. We brought her to the vet a month ago for similar symptoms, but after getting better, the symptoms recurred and got a bit more serious :(

The attending vet did a physical exam and saw Ellie had some mouth ulcers and some gum bleeding, plus her CBC results showed she had an ongoing infection (elevated WBC) and anemia, plus she was a bit hypothermic (35 degrees amg temp, when it should be between 38-39 deg).

They put her on IV fluids and started on meds for her infection, anemia, mouth ulcers and pain management. They are also trying laser therapy on her mouth sores to encourage healing.

While she showed some improvement since being admitted yesterday, she will need to stay in the clinic for a few more days to get proper care.

We are hoping for your help to get Ellie the care she needs at the clinic.

Once she gets better, we will also restart our search for her permanent home -- she is a sweet girl (spayed/kapon, vaccinated, and malambing to people), and after two unsuccessful rehomings (not the fault of the adopters), we hope to find her the perfect home soon.

Reminder: please do not leave food for our community cats anywhere within CGS

The owner of our pet food store/ pet hotel (Feed A Cat) was given a notice by one of our security personnel because some well-meaning neighbors have been leaving pet food and water in front of her store...this is not allowed especially along common areas.

We have volunteer feeders who feed our community cats in specific, admin-approved, pet-safe areas so no need to leave food for them. The pet hotel owner also said people are welcome to pet or feed the cats inside the store instead of leaving food outside. You can also help by donating cat food and our volunteers will do the feeding :)

URGENT: FOSTER/RESCUE NEEDED FOR MAMA CAT & KITTENS 🚨

We've recently been feeding this mama cat who had been staying inside a nearby building.

Today, we found the kittens across the street, completely drenched from the rain and without their mama. Thankfully, we found Mama nearby and was able to bring her back to her babies.

We were told that the building management wanted the kittens out. I’m not sure how they ended up across the street, but they no longer have a safe place to stay and are now exposed to rain and traffic.

Mama cat also has an injured eye that needs to be checked. đź’”

We urgently need a temporary foster or safe, dry place for Mama and her kittens together.

Still looking for a forever home for Nana, the little angel (CGS mandaluyong)

This female tortie kitty was found and rescued by the staff of Purple Groom CGS a week ago and was named Nana. Nakita sha hiding under a parked car in front of Purple Groom. Not sure if abandoned siya or di sinasadyang sumakay sa ilalim ng sasakyan galing labas at nadala sa CGS :(

Nana is currently staying at Purple Groom and being cared for by the staff. She is also visited daily ny one of our volunteers for her vitamins. But we hope to find her a permanent loving home soon.

She is very playful, alert and maganda ang appetite. Malambing siya sa tao and di naman takot sa ibang cats or dogs na bumibisita sa Purple Groom (thankfully wala pa po shang traumatic experience sa mgahumans and other pets).

We are deeply saddened to announce that Cashew, a beloved CGS community cat adopted by Ms. Dianne, passed away on Saturday, September 5th.

Though her life was cut short, Cashew was deeply cherished after being rescued last year from what we believe was an abandonment. We take comfort in knowing she knew what it meant to be loved.

Rest in peace, Cashew. See you at the rainbow bridge.
