We champion regenerative, low-carbon materials like bamboo for a sustainable, resilient built environment. BASE is a non-profit organization initiated by the Hilti Foundation. Bringing bamboo to Subic was one for the books. 🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who dropped by the BASE booth at Philippine Woodmac 2026 and joined the conversation on the future of bamboo construction.

We are especially grateful to and the Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council (PBIDC) for inviting us and helping put bamboo front and center, exactly where it belongs.

This is only the beginning for bamboo construction, and we are excited for what’s ahead. 🌱

From local material to global standard. 🌍

Bamboo is taking a major step forward.

BASE is collaborating with the U.S.-based International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) to help establish official global standards for structural bamboo construction.

This means:
✔️ Stronger validation for bamboo as a structural material
✔️ Greater confidence for architects and engineers
✔️ Wider adoption in building systems worldwide

Because for bamboo to scale, it needs more than potential. It needs standards that the world can build on.
