Virlanie was founded in 1992 by Dominique Lemay, a French social worker, in partnership with Filipinos. Since that time, Virlanie has looked after more than 22,000 children in Metro Manila. Virlanie bases its dozens of projects on three core programs: street, residential, and community with three support services: health, education, and training. In celebration of Nutrition Month, our friends from Rayomar Insurance Business Agencies, Inc. (Rayocare) joined Virlanie children for a fun and meaningful day of learning centered on the theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan" (Nutrition and the Environment, Let Us Care for Them). 🍎🌳

Through five interactive activity stations: Food Group Sorting, Taste Test, Mystery Box, Build My Plate, and Planting Healthy, our children discovered the importance of making nutritious food choices while caring for the environment. 🤗

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Rayocare for making Nutrition Month both educational and enjoyable, and for inspiring our children to build healthier habits for themselves and the world around them. Happy Nutrition Month! 🌱🩵🧡

Healthy habits start with proper care! 🤗🫧

Our Street Program recently held a head lice prevention workshop in Aroma, Tondo, where children learned about head lice, how they spread, and the importance of good hygiene in preventing them. To help them put these lessons into practice, each child received a hygiene kit filled with essential toiletries. 🪥🧼

As part of the initiative, children already affected by head lice were also given a medicated shampoo treatment to begin the intervention process and support their journey toward better health and well-being. 🧖‍♀️🧖‍♂️

Last July 18, an exclusive Virlanie beneficiaries, staff, volunteers and Virlanie Board of Trustees represented by Mr. Jun Abelardo, VFI President, gathered to commemorate this milestone. Thank you, Kitchen City for the fine dining experience for the children of Virlanie. ☺️
