Today, TOPS Toastmasters spent a beautiful day with our Aeta community family in Brgy. Banoyo, Batangas: sharing gifts and love with 90 families.

Our day unfolded in three meaningful sessions:
🎨 Through art — the children expressed their world through coloring and drawing. Congratulations to our top prize winners!
🗣️ Through stories — our adults shared their rich history, their daily realities, and their hopes for tomorrow. Every voice mattered.
🩺 Through care — community members learned essential skills on how to use and maintain basic medical equipment. Knowledge that serves them for years to come.

It wasn’t just about what we gave. It was about what we received: stories, smiles, and the reminder that we grow the most when we lift one another up.

Thank you to our generous donors, volunteers, to Cartwheel Foundation, Inc. for directing us to this outreach site and the Banoyo Aetas wonderful community for welcoming us. Until we meet again!

80 families, 281 individuals compose the Aeta community that resides in Barangay Banoyo, San Luis, Batangas. These are the benefiaries of our TOPS Toastmasters Club 2026 Outreach.

Historically, their ancestors migrated from Tayabas, Quezon. Over the last few decades, they have adapted to life in Batangas. A significant portion of this indigenous community was displaced from their coastal settlements. They eventually relocated to the hillside slopes of Barangay Banoyo. This relocation became more critical following the 2020 Taal Volcano eruption, which left many families initially without housing or stable income.

Housing: They share a small, steep residential plot featuring around 30 houses and communal facilities.The local tribe is traditionally clustered into three main areas—the seaside of Banoyo, the riverside, and near the local bridge.

TOPS TMC was originally formed as The Outstanding Professional/Public Speakers but we later on rebranded to be The Outstanding People Servants. True to our name, our vision is to hold at least 1 outreach activity every year.

Thanks to those who donated so far, we are still open to accepting donations.

What a night we had at TOPS Toastmasters last night! Our Meeting Theme: "Vancouver International Convention 2026" 🇨🇦🌎

Our TM of the Evening: TM Hazel Pascual-Nespral
took us on a wonderful journey across the ocean: sharing her firsthand experience from the Toastmasters International Convention in Vancouver, Canada! From the vibrant energy of the convention center to the inspiring speakers and global connections, we felt like we were right there with her. Thank you, TM Hazel, for bringing the world to our club!

We were truly honored to have Past International Director Christine Temblique grace our hybrid meeting! Her presence was such a beautiful reminder of the rich history and legacy of our organization. As she shared, she can actually recall the conventions she hasn't attended better than the ones she has: a delightful, warm perspective that made us all smile. Thank you for your wisdom and grace!

Featured Speech: TM Mumty — "What If I Am Not Behind?" reminded us that life is not a race & that each one of us has our own pace, our own timing, and our own path. We don't need to rush or compare. We are exactly where we need to be. A powerful message that we all needed to hear.

Word of the Night: LIMINAL
"Relating to a transitional or initial stage; being at a boundary or threshold." A beautiful word that captures those in-between moments when we are growing, changing, and becoming something new.

Last night reminded us that whether we are on a stage in Vancouver or in our own meeting room, growth happens when we show up, share our stories, and cheer one another on.

TOPS goes to Vancouver!
We wish 😄. TOPS Immediate Past President Hazel Pascual-Nespral will be sharing with us highlights from the 2026 Toasmasters International Convention as Toastmaster of the Evening, gaving attended the event. We will still be having our usual Toastmaster meeting, with this as the theme. See you onsite at 11th flr unit 1114 Cityland Herrera bldg corner Rufino & Valero streets.

Blocks to Brilliance: A Tops Toastmasters Club meeting
We had a brilliant meeting, having 38 people online and 6 people onsite at DXC Technologies in the Intellectual Property Office Bldg in BGC. The meeting was ably led by Toastmaster of the Evening,Area4 Director Kristoffer Ngo. Leony Tan Seng shared her 1st speech for her Distinguished Toastmasters project benefitting the writing community towards writing your book in 90Days to become a published author & sharing your story to the world. TM Macon gave challenging, thought provoking Table Topics questions that revolved on the meeting theme.
Every Toastmasters meeting is a step towards brilliance.

Blocks to Brilliance: A TOPS Toastmasters Club mtg last night was brilliant indeed with 38 pax online and 8onsite at DXC Techonologies office in BGC. The night was ably handled by Toastmaster f the Evening/Div P Area4 Direk Kristoffer Ngo. Mumty Quevedo-Remitio encouraged all to be "eloquent" for the Word of the Night. Leony Tan Seng shared her 90Days to Your Book DTM Project speech1 on helping & guiding writers & aspiring authors write their books. Tm Macon gave challenging Table Topics that revolved on the mtg theme of crafting your speech. Hard to TOPS this mtg off, but see you all on our next mtg on Sept23!

TOPS Toastmasters: Heroes—Then & Now 🇵🇭

Great speeches don’t just inform, they also inspire—just like our heroes’ words still echo today.

Tonight at TOPS, we mulled over Filipino national heroes and their timeless famous lines during our Table Topics! And so many valiant, heartfelt stories stepped forward: how losing the love of your life can turn out to be a blessing; how you can love your country even more by leaving it; how seeing our countrymen wade bravely through flood waters stirs something deep within; and the courage to start all over again… to live a life with absolutely no regrets.

We also paused with TM Mumty’s thoughtful speech, asking “What If I’m Not Behind?”, and learned to trust exactly where we stand on our own life’s path.

True heroism isn’t only found in history books.
It lives in the courage we choose, the kindness we give, and the purpose we stand for, every single day. Heroes aren’t just from the past: heroes are what we choose to be, right here and now.
