During the World Population Day 2026 Youth Aspirations Forum, young people shared their dreams for themselves, their communities, and the country, and the actions they believe will help turn those aspirations into reality.

While their dreams are as diverse as their experiences, they share a common hope: a future where every young person has the opportunity, support, and freedom to reach their full potential.

This World Population Day, we celebrate the voices, ideas, and aspirations of young people. Because when young people are empowered to shape their own futures, they help build a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future for all.

Knock Totoy Bacteria out! The Olongapo City Health Office, Department of Health Central Luzon, the Center for Health Solutions & Innovations Philippines, Inc., Philippine Business for Social Progress, and Alay Buhay Community Development Foundation bring free chest Xray services to tricycle drivers and residents of Barangay Pag-asa as part of , a community campaign to find and treat as many persons with tuberculosis (TB) as possible. 20 of 119 individuals scanned were found positive of TB by official reading of a radiologist onsite. This is equal to 1 diagnosed TB for every 6 individuals who are given a free chest X-ray scan. Thank you to Hon. Rodolfo Catalogan, Jr, ., village chief of Barangay Pag-asa, for the support!

Happy World Theater Day! Theater can change communities. That is the story of "Goodbye, Dumi! Hello, Healthy!" Written by Glecy Cruz Atienza and with songs by Roberto Dela Cruz Mendoza, the play helped in convincing fathers and mothers to finally build their own toilets in villages where open defecation was prevalent.

Knock out Totoy Bakterya!

This is our local version of "Yes! We Can TB" when speaking to male residents of Olongapo City. The Olongapo City Health Department and CHSI Philippines, Inc. set up a speed bag challenge for tricycle drivers and fishermen who received free chest X-ray scans during the observance of World TB Day in Barangay Barretto.

Mixed martial arts athlete Nik Baraw demonstrated how to use the speed bag. By making a villainous boxing character out of the dreaded Mycobacterium tuberculosis, we found it easier to talk to men about the importance of early detection and complete treatment to knock out the TB bacteria.

On World TB Day, the Olongapo City Health Department gave free chest X-ray scans to 89 tricycle drivers, fishermen, government employees, and walk-in residents of Barangay Barretto. Eight clients were found presumptive of TB via artificial intelligence. This translates to about one presumptive TB case for every 11 individuals scanned. Based on 2025 data, the typical person with TB in Olongapo City was a 45-year old male. But more females than males availed of free chest X-ray scans last year. With the support of CHSI Philippines, Inc., the Olongapo City Health Department is bringing its ultra-portable chest X-ray machine to settings with predominantly male workers like public transport terminals and construction sites.
