๐Ÿ“– Learn with us!

Check out these step-by-step guides and discover how our farmers are applying Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) and home gardening to build more resilient and productive farms.

๐ŸŒฑ First up: Pricking! One of the first steps in raising healthy vegetable seedlings is pricking, a technique that helps young plants develop stronger roots before they are transplanted into the field.

๐ŸŒฑ Nurturing every seedling for a better harvest.

Our rightsholders are gaining hands-on experience in pricking, the careful process of transferring young seedlings to give them more space to grow strong and healthy. This simple yet essential farming practice helps improve plant survival and supports more productive home gardens.

Small steps in learning today can lead to abundant harvests tomorrow. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒฑ Protecting the land, securing the future.

Our rightsholders are putting Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) into practice, learning sustainable methods that help prevent soil erosion, conserve water, and improve soil fertility on sloping farms. These climate-smart techniques empower farming communities to protect their environment while increasing productivity and resilience.

Every lesson learned today is an investment in a more sustainable tomorrow. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒฑ Growing stronger, one graft at a time!

Our rightsholders are learning the art of graftingโ€”a technique that combines the strengths of different plants to produce healthier, more resilient, and more productive crops. By mastering this skill, they are taking another step toward sustainable farming and improved livelihoods for their families.

Together, we're cultivating knowledge that will bear fruit for years to come. ๐ŸŒฟ

Growing knowledge today for a more resilient tomorrow. ๐ŸŒพ

For many farming families in Pahamuddin and Rajah Buayan, sustainable agriculture is more than a farming practice - it is a pathway to food security, stronger livelihoods, and a better future.

Through the Advancing Climate-Resilient Livelihood and Disaster Preparedness for Extreme Poor Families in BARMM Project supported by Islamic Relief UK , 70 rightsholders participated in a Training on Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Agriculture through Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) and Integrated Farming Systems, facilitated by the Mindanao Baptist Rural Life Center (MBRLC).

The training combined discussions on Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) and home gardening with hands-on practical sessions, allowing participants to immediately apply climate-smart farming techniques they can bring back to their own farms and communities.

Every new skill learned is another step toward empowering families to adapt to climate challenges, improve their harvests, and build lasting resilience.

๐ŸŒฑ Stay tuned for our next post as we walk you through the step-by-step farming techniques and practical lessons shared during the training!

Standing with communities, even before emergencies happen. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿคฒ

Following the recent flooding in Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur, our team conducted monitoring visits to ensure the shelters continue to provide a safe and secure space for the community. As a flood-prone area, continuous monitoring is essential to help ensure the shelters remain safe and ready to protect vulnerable communities.

This activity is part of the Individuals are Protected from Threats and Environmental Risks through Shelter and WASH (IPROTECTS) Project, supported by Islamic Relief Canada, as we continue working to strengthen community resilience and preparedness in times of crisis.

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š Building resilient communities starts with informed communities!

Knowledge is one of the strongest tools we can have in preparing for disasters and adapting to a changing climate. Over the course of 6โ€“10 July 2026, members of 20 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from the barangays of Sampao, Baital, Bakat, Panadtaban, and Malibpolok in Raja Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur came together to participate in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) awareness sessions.

Through interactive discussions, experience sharing, and participatory risk mapping, our rightsholders explored ways to identify local hazards, strengthen community preparedness, and adopt practical, climate-resilient strategies for their families and livelihoods.

When communities come together to learn, they also build the confidence to protect their families, strengthen their livelihoods, and shape a more resilient future. ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒพ

๐ŸŸ The hito journey is officially making a splash! ๐Ÿ’ฆ

After participating in the Hito (catfish) Production Orientation, our dedicated rightsholders in Barangay Datu Mantil, Pahamuddin have already started constructing their hito/nursery pond, an exciting first step toward their new livelihood journey! ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŸ

This is just the beginning, as more training sessions and hands-on learning activities are still to come. We look forward to seeing their skills, confidence, and livelihoods continue to grow.
