🌍💙 World Kidney Day 2026 Celebration 💙🌍

Today we proudly celebrated World Kidney Day 2026 with a Walkathon and awareness program hosted by Port Moresby General Hospital in collaboration with PNG Kidney Foundation Inc.

This year’s theme, “Kidney Health for All, Caring for People, Protecting the Planet" highlights the importance of early detection and prevention of kidney disease.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr Steven Bogasia, PNG Nephrologist, Sir Martin Poh, Chairman PNG Kidney Foundation Inc , Mr. Bonny Ninai, Director PNG Kidney Foundation Inc , Chief Physician Dr Bolo Watoka, and Dr Henao Asa for joining us in celebrating World Kidney Day this year. Your support and participation have made a significant impact on our hospital and the wider community by helping raise awareness about kidney health and the prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

We also thank all healthcare workers, partners, and community members who participated in the walkathon and awareness activities. Together, we continue to promote kidney health and encourage early detection for a healthier future.

Look out for our team as they do a walkathon from POM Grammar to 3 mile this morning and raise awareness on the prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease.
