Australian gold miner St Barbara Limited has agreed to sell its remaining interest in the New Simberi Gold Project and associated Tabar Islands exploration licences in Simberi, New Ireland Province to China's Lingbao Gold Group in a deal valued at A$453 million.

Ok Tedi Mining Limited (Ok Tedi) board has declared an interim dividend of K450million for the half year 2026, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kedi Ilimbit has announced.

This was paid to its shareholders as per their shareholding – K300million to Kumul Minerals Holding Limited for the State (67%) and K150 million to the Mineral Resources Development Company, who manages the landowner interests.

In presenting the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Amendment Bill 2026 to Parliament this week, Treasury Minister, Hon. Ian Ling-Stuckey acknowledged PNG CORE for its support of the Government's initiatives and its role in coordinating industry engagement on key national issues, particularly the current fuel subsidy program.

PNG CORE welcomes the Minister's acknowledgement and remains committed to working collaboratively with Government, regulators, and industry stakeholders to support policies and reforms that deliver practical outcomes for Papua New Guinea.

As a responsible industry representative body, PNG CORE will continue to engage constructively on matters relating to fuel security, economic stability and the broader interests of Papua New Guineans.
