We want to acknowledge Ange Jones’ contribution to Whangarei R**e Crisis since her
employment in 2022. Ange has resigned from her position as General Manager to
pursue other opportunities.

In her time with the organisation, Ange built trusted stakeholder relationships locally
and across the region to deliver our 24/7 support and advocacy service for survivors of
sexual harm and their whanau. She also oversaw the creation of He Hapori Whakaae –
Community of Consent for the Whangarei district and contributed to the establishment
of the Te Tai Tokerau Sexual Violence Prevention Network.

We wish her well for future endeavours

We’re at Forum North for one month to mid-June whilst we make accessibility improvements to our Cameron St centre.

Huge mihi to everyone who came through for Consent to Quiz with and , and to all the fierce, fabulous humans who lit up the dance floor at the Consenting Adults Dance Party! 💃🏽💜🪩

From bold questions to bold outfits, honest kōrero to uninhibited dancing — you showed up with heart, humour, and a whole lot of style. These events reminded us that joy, connection, and safety can and should go hand-in-hand.

🎉 What a day in the heart of Whangārei! 🎉

Massive aroha to everyone who turned up, tuned in, dropped coins in buckets, sang, chalked, danced, and helped us fill Cameron Street Mall with colour, connection, and calls for consent! 💜✨

The Cameron Street Takeover was a full-on celebration of community spirit and shared commitment to safety, healing, and education — all while raising vital funds for Whangārei R**e Crisis.

Highlights included:
🎤 A powerhouse Flash Mob performance by the Giant Drop In Choir
🖍 Art activities: Weave A Community of Consent, Chalk art activism & creative expression
