👎🏻After my (Rina's)failure to remember the leek seedlings BOOOI!
👣We all wandered off into various jobs
Josh, armed with the machete moving through the banana grove
👌🏻The gals, were off to grab another cardboard haul, then back to do more stripping😆
🔨Emma and Josh denailing the salvaged fence boards that were kindly gifted to us by Tikipunga Baptist Church🙏🏻
👏🏻Our very own joiner was making up raised beds from the good bits of timber..beauty job 👏🏻
🌱Niki was rescuing and potting up some plants that had been bashed around a bit by the elements..popped them into the warm🌡️
🪏Emma, Rina and Niki did a little bit of weeding and soil care
📚Jayden came up to korero about class resources etc..then left to source said resources
😋Had a lovely al fresco lunch with Heather...we all chatted and enjoyed great food and company.
💯All was good in our hood🙏🏻

PROJECT POTATOES is ON!
✔️Next mission: Prepping the no-dig bed for our early seed potatoes!
✔️Back and time-saving. No heavy digging required
✔️The team has heaps of cardboard ready to go...cheers....Karen, Linda, Josh, Xiihunna, and Emma, for getting cardboard ready👍🏻
GAME PLAN
📦Layer 1: Laying down thick, recycled cardboard to suppress the weeds
🌾Layer 2: Covering it all with a thick, warm layer of baleage to give our spuds a nutrient-dense home.
🌱Nature is already showing off: We’ve got resilient nasturtium leaves pushing their way right through the covered area!
👍🏻Nasturtiums are fantastic companion plants to deter pests naturally, so they get a massive thumbs up from us.
