The Maunu Garden Project. We are a culturally diverse group and we welcome all to our piece of Aotearoa paradise. We are committed to the development of gardening practices and sustainability of the health and well being of our local and regional communities. Our key principles:

After Saturday's; sunny, clear sky day..the weather has turned blustery and wet az...our little water.tanks and no rain times will benefit from this weather.

There is a plan in place for today - more areas set up for our no dig flower beds.
That means hauling cardboard, baleage up the hill. Ah hah 🌧️👀❓

10am kick off today - jug will be hot..
Stay home, stay cosy, warm and dry OR pop in with the high probability of getting wet, being wet weathered up 🤗

Our darling Karen wasn't firing on all cylinders today...but she managed to crack on like a soldier

Nikki, Karen and Linda..planted out the corn and beans

Speaking of soldiers - Tyler kept an eye on Xiihunna and Emma as they shovelled in the compost..filling some raised gardens

Teziah and Josh - in the banana groves, doing some tidying up with their machetes

Within Nature were onsite and got their garden area shade clothed..looking blimmen flash eah!

Lovely to catch up with Claudia and Scott and hear about their new venture and community focus

Leanee and Ben (with the widest smile) popped up for a visit and a walk. Ben was particularly keen on the windchime 🙂

We can post about the mahi we do, however the feeling that the whenua gives to us all ..while different, equates to a "sense of place"...in this space we have a sense of "place"

Top of the morning to you ALL. Gate open at 10 am..jug hot!

Our garden whips are cracking and the sound is....we will be planting corn and beans..

If that is not your thing - maybe a roller brush and paint

Yeh/Nah - cutting tithonia and trimming our banana grove

Watering seedlings? Feeding plants - STINK!

Reading a book..as you restack our substantial library?? And categorise our books

Always some job to help out with, here in the maara..

✅Karen in charge; said we would be creating the pollinator swathes..and we did.

💯Neat little team on board, Patsy, Xiihunna, Linda, Karen, Josh and Tay..
😔Our bub wasn't feeling too well, so Niki stayed close to her.
😥Lots of barrows full of cardboard and baleage, pushed up into the orchard - cranked our steps count up
🌧️Looking forward to the rainfall that we were told to expect tonight......🤞🏻
