Ag Day - PTA Cake Decorating Competition & Auction 🎂🥣

The PTA invites you to enter our annual Cake Decorating Competition! There is a trophy up for grabs for Hukerenui's top decorator. After judging, all cakes will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with all funds raised going directly to the PTA to support projects for our students. It’s a wonderful (and delicious) way to support our school!

Cakes are to be delivered to the principals office on Friday morning before 9.15am for judging.

See some of the previous entries in the pics above.

Guidelines for entering:
*To register you must be secondary school age (i.e., year 9 above) or older and must have an affiliation to Hukerenui School (i.e., parent of child attending school or past pupil).

*This competition is aimed at amateur cake decorators so professional cake decorators (anyone who earns money from selling decorated cakes) should not enter the competition. We welcome cakes from professional decorators to include in our cake auction, but they will not be judged as part of the cake competition.
*All work on the cake is to be the sole work of the entrant.
*The cake must be edible and made primarily of cake.
*Judging is based on the following things:
a. Overall look of the cake
b. Originality and creativity
c. Technical ability and degree of difficulty
*All cakes once on school grounds become the property of Hukerenui School PTA and will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting the children.

Massive thank you to everyone who helped make our Spooky Disco such a fantastic success last week! 🎃🕺💃

The kids had an absolute blast, as you can see in the video, and thanks to your incredible support, we managed to raise $2,000 to help fund even more activities and opportunities for our tamariki.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped decorate, baked goodies, volunteered in the canteen, kept the dance floor running, and came along to join in the fun. We couldn't do it without our amazing school community.

Thank you all for your time, effort, and support! 🧡

We’ll be serving hot food from the Mid Northern Rugby Club canteen, which is right next to the hall. Parents and tamariki are welcome to eat on the verandah, it’s a quieter spot to sit down, enjoy some kai, and then head back into the disco for more spooky grooves and glow‑bright moves.

On the menu: hot chips, hotdogs, baking and sweet treats, drinks, and glow gear.

Come and relax, grab some kai, and enjoy the night together.
