It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of one of our tamariki this week.

Our thoughts and aroha are with the whānau during this incredibly difficult time. As a kura community, we would like to come together to support them in a practical way.

The PTA will be organising a non-perishable food and frozen food drive to help ease some of the day-to-day pressures for the whānau.

🧺 Donations welcome:
Non-perishable food items (e.g. canned goods, pasta, rice, breakfast items), frozen food items and vouchers of any kind.

📍 Drop-off location: Hukerenui School Office
📅 Dates: From Friday 22 May

If you are able to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please also keep the whānau in your thoughts and respect their privacy at this time.

Ngā mihi nui for your kindness and support.

Kia ora whānau,

Whaea Kelly has sent home forms this week in our tamariki’s bags asking for donations towards the fundraising hangi for the Kapa Haka Festival on 1 May.

If you’re able to help, she’d really appreciate donations of potatoes, kumara, pumpkin, and frozen chicken pieces.

A quick note:
Please bring in the frozen chicken next week so they can keep everything stored safely. Other veg can come in anytime.

Thank you so much for supporting our Kura and helping to fund new Kapa Haka equipment. Every little bit genuinely helps.

Ngā mihi nui,
Hūkerenui School PTA

Kia ora whānau,

A quick reminder that our next PTA meeting is tomorrow night – Monday 20 April, 7pm at the Hūkerenui Playcentre.

Everyone is welcome. If you’re curious about what we do, have ideas to share, or just want to come along for a chat, we’d love to see you there.

We’ll be talking through our projects for the year and planning support for the next big School event – the Kapa Haka Festival on 1 May, including the sausage sizzle and bake sale.

Come along, get involved in whatever way suits you, and help us support our tamariki and school community.
