Whangarei Cat Rescue is a community charity run by volunteers on donated time, funds and food.

We do not have a shelter location but foster in our volunteers homes so our kitties come used to a home environment. Our Adoption Fee is $200

All of our kittens have been:
*Desexed
*Vaccinated
*Microchipped & registered on NZCAR
*De-flead & wormed

We also offer discounts for pairs, teenagers and adults.

🐾Paw‑some News! 🐾

Almost every single one of our kittens has now found their forever homes — two little sweethearts are still waiting for their perfect match: Moon, our sleek jet‑black beauty, and Peanut, our shy little tabby who likes to burrow.

Sam was the final kitten to be adopted on Sunday, and she curled up on her new family’s shoulder and fell fast asleep, completely content — a perfect reminder of why we try our best to match kittens with their new families.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, Moon and Peanut would love to meet you. Their forever families are out there somewhere; we are just waiting for you to email us!

🐾 The Cats in the Chat? Nope — Meet Them in Person!🐾

In a land full of whiskers, and tiny toe beans,
Four kittens are waiting to star in your dreams.
There’s Saffron, sweet Saffron, a soft‑spoken queen,
A loner, a thinker, not one to cause scenes.

She’ll watch from the sidelines till trust has begun—
Then zoomies at night, but the princess kind of fun.
She’d love a calm home where she rules on her own,
No small kids, no chaos— just peace for her throne.

And Chive, little Chive, a shy gentle sprout,
He wants to be brave but is still working it out.
He knows pats are lovely, he knows they’re the goal,
But relaxing is hard for his wiggly wee soul.
Yet bring out the toys— bells and balls in a flurry—
He’ll pounce on his sister in a sneak‑attack hurry.

Then Tom and Miss Gerri, a duo so bright,
Two bundles of mischief who bounce through the night.
They tumble and rumble, they wiggle with glee,
If trouble had whiskers— well, that’s them, you see.

And ALL of these kittens, each whisker and paw,
Will be at our Adoption Event— this SUNDAY, hurrah!
But please, lovely humans, we must make this clear:
Don’t message us early or ask “Can I pre‑book them, dear?”

These kittens need visitors, people who show—
In person, on Sunday, so relationships grow.
So come meet Saffron, Chive, Tom, Gerri as well,
At our Sunday event— where forever homes dwell.
Your heart may expand three sizes (or more)…

In a foster home not so far, far away… four tiny heroes are ready to begin their greatest adventure yet.

From the Light Side
✨ Sam & Sadie — beautiful sisters with bright, curious eyes and the purest hearts in the galaxy.

These four are brave, playful, affectionate, and fully prepared to use the Force (…of their cuteness) to win over their future families.

Whether you’re seeking a dynamic duo or a solo padawan to train, these kittens are ready to bring balance to your home — and maybe knock a few things off the shelf while they’re at it.

Adopt, you must. Love them, you will.

Averil, Avery and Rocky want to know ....

Are you coming to our adoption event on Sunday with the intention of taking home a new addition? Preferably them so you can gaze at their cuteness?

Here are some things to consider:
- Bring a carrier cage with you so you can safely take your kitten home
- Our kittens eat Chef Kitten wet food and Whiskas Kitten dry food
- Have a litter tray, litter and cleaning supplies. Our kittens use clay litter in their trays
- Have bowls for their food and water
- Have a warm, safe space for them to sleep and settle in
- Have some toys to keep them stimulated, they will need to be inside for up to 6 weeks once they are home

The fantastic Whangarei Cat Rescue foster families will be there to answer questions you might have about the kittens.

🐾✨ Adoption Event Information ✨🐾

💰 How much is the adoption fee?
Our adoption fees are $200 per kitten or $350 for a pair of kittens adopted together. We have a QR code for payments, bank transfers are preferable and we do not have Eftpos or Afterpay available.

🩺 What’s included in the fee?
Desexing
Microchipping
First vaccination
Up to date flea & worm treatments
A health check
Basically, all the essentials so your new furry friend is ready to snuggle! 🐱💖

🏡 Can I visit your shelter?
We don't have a shelter location, instead foster in private homes, and we love visitors by arrangement. Even better… come meet us at our Adoption Event this Sunday 🎉. It’s the purr‑fect chance to meet all our kittens in person.

⏳ Can you place a kitten “on hold” for me?
Sorry, we can’t hold kittens — they’re eager to find homes right away! If you’ve fallen in love, act fast so you don’t miss out. 🐾

🧐 What if they are too small to take home on the day?
You can pre-adopt a kitten if you fall in love and they are not quite ready, they then stay in our care until they are big enough to be desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.

💕 Meet Avery — Our Shy Little Purr Monster 💕

Avery is a gentle, curious sweetheart with a beautiful grey coat dusted with soft white splashes on her bib and tummy. She may start off shy, but once she feels safe, her personality blossoms — and wow, does she shine.

🌟 Avery’s Special Traits
Shy sweetheart — She needs time, patience, and a calm home to let her confidence grow.
Chin‑rub lover — Once she trusts you, she melts for chin rubs and gentle nose bumps.
Playful spirit — She adores her fish‑wand toy and is an impressive little jumper.
Curious explorer — She’s independent but quietly inquisitive about other cats.
Purr monster — When she’s happy, she purrs like a tiny engine.
Loves to pouch — Snuggling into cosy spaces is her favourite comfort.

🏡 The Home She Needs
Avery is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will give her time, space, and gentle encouragement to build trust at her own pace. She’s content spending time on her own but enjoys quietly observing other cats, so a calm feline friend could be a lovely match.

Once Avery lets you into her world, she is pure sweetness — soft, affectionate, playful, and full of heart.
