A huge thank you to Liam Astbury for sharing his creative journey with us at this month's Auaha Kōrero – Creative Conversations. It was wonderful to hear about his experiences, challenges, achievements and passion for making creativity accessible to everyone.
And to top it all off, Liam even sold one of his prints! 🙌🎉
One of the messages Liam shared really stood out:
💬 "If I could go back and tell myself one thing, it would be: don't wait until you feel like a 'real artist'; just start creating, put your work out there, and allow yourself to grow."
Liam also spoke openly about being neurodiverse and living with a disability, reminding us that different does not mean less capable. His experiences have helped shape his creative practice and strengthened his commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
Such an important reminder that creativity looks different for everyone, and there is no single pathway to becoming an artist. 💚
