We were truly grateful for the opportunity to recently host the Police Pasefika Liaison Professional Course in our space.

It was a privilege to create room for connection, learning, and shared purpose with those serving our Pasefika communities across Aotearoa.

We were also able to step outside our space and visit Vaka Atafaga and Le Fale Jobs and Skills Hub - strengthening relationships, fellowshipping, and sharing the collective work happening across our community.

We were also grateful to be part of the Porirua Pacific Night Market, connecting with our wider community in a vibrant and meaningful way.

These moments of talanoa continue to remind us of the power of partnership, cultural connection, and working together to support our people.

Fa’afetai tele lava to everyone who contributed, shared their thoughts, and continues to uplift our communities through their service.

We always welcome opportunities to connect, collaborate, and share more about the opportunities through Our Whare Our Fale.

If you would like us to come and present about the next stages of Our Whare Our Fale, please don’t hesitate to get in touch - contact details are in our bio.

We recently had the privilege of welcoming construction students from Mana College and their parents and aiga to the Mua i Malae shared fale, as they prepare to begin work with Holmes on the next shared fale as part of the Our Whare Our Fale development.

Before stepping onto the tools, we came together to share a meal, build relationships, and ground the work in its deeper purpose. The students learned about the cultural significance of the fale and malae, and how their contribution helps support the wellbeing of Pacific families and the wider community.

Our Whare Our Fale provides a real platform for our youth to learn in a live build environment while contributing to something bigger than themselves. It’s about creating opportunities, opening pathways into the trades, and strengthening our families and communities at the same time. When our young people grow their skills and confidence, when families have warm and secure homes, and when culture and community remain at the heart of what we build, our whole community thrives.

We are incredibly proud of these students and grateful for the support of Holmes Construction and Mana College. We look forward to seeing their work come to life as part of a project grounded in Pasefika values, collective strength, and the wellbeing of our people.

We were truly grateful and blessed to recently host both the New Zealand Police Māori, Pacific and Ethnic Services fono and the Porirua Pacific Service Network meeting.

These gatherings gave us a special opportunity to share the next stages of the Our Whare Our Fale Pasefika Housing Project and talanoa with those who serve and support our communities every day.

Following the successful completion of Mua i Malae, where 18 families moved into their warm, healthy homes just before Christmas, we are now preparing for the next stage of the build — including 32 additional homes planned for completion by the end of 2026.

Fa’afetai tele lava to everyone who joined the talanoa, asked thoughtful questions, and continues to champion housing solutions for our people.

We would love the opportunity to share this amazing opportunity with other organisations, churches, groups, and networks across our community.

If you would like us to come and present about the next stages of Our Whare Our Fale, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — contact details are in our bio.

Big progress on site this week 👷🏽‍♂️🏗️

Framing is coming together across Sites 1.2 and 1.3, bringing the vision of our village one step closer to reality. It’s exciting to see the structures take shape and imagine the families who will soon call these homes their own.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry for Pacific Peoples for generously allowing us to share space with them at the Porirua Waitangi Festival.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of what strong partnerships can achieve, creating opportunities to connect, talanoa, and celebrate together in the heart of our community.

The festival was an incredible day filled with culture, families, and vibrant energy. We loved meeting everyone who stopped by for a chat, shared their thoughts, and took the time to engage with us. Your insights and support mean so much.

🏡 Our Whare Our Fale – Site 1.3

Our next village is on the way, with Site 1.3 opening towards the end of 2026. This thoughtfully designed development will feature 20 homes, ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms, offering options for growing families, multigenerational living, and everything in between.

Built with families, accessibility, and community at its heart, Site 1.3 brings together warm, modern homes, shared spaces, and green pathways all within a safe, supportive village where whānau can truly put down roots.

This is more than housing it’s about belonging, stability, and creating a future our Pasefika families can thrive in for generations.
