If Father’s Day is on Sunday, what is the question?

Shout out to everyone who made today’s Father’s Day breakfast extra special 🙌 especially the BSW students from Whitireia who managed to put the gift packs together during the food drive on Saturday just gone. We are so grateful 🙌

HARI RĀ PĀPĀ! 🎉

From all of us at Rongomātāne Men’s Centre, wishing every pāpā out there a day of rest and appreciation.

To the dads showing up every day, doing the mahi, holding it down for your whānau, we see you and we celebrate you today.

And to the māmā who carry both roles too, know that you are valued and appreciated always.

Nau mai, take today to rest. You’ve earned it.

Today was a beautiful reminder of what our Porirua community can do when we come together. Ngā mihi nui to Dylan, Bridie, Isabella, Rosana and Bhadra, and to Phoenix and Lance, for bringing the energy and the vibes to our Community Hub. Your mahi made today possible.

And to everyone who came through to restock our Kai Pantry, thank you. Your generosity means wāhine, tamariki and whānau who need it most will have kai on the table when they need it. This is manaakitanga in action, and we are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up like this.

Ngā mihi maioha to all of you

THREE POU: KNOW YOUR VILLAGE. BUILD YOUR VILLAGE. GROW WITH YOUR VILLAGE.

A highlight from Bizfest yesterday, Ngāti Pāhauwera’s Sir Ian Taylor sharing his kōrero on the Three Pou and the power of village. It’s a message that sits right at the heart of what we do here at Rongomātāne.

No tāne succeeds alone. Every tāne has a village — whānau, friends, kaumātua, the people who show up. Our village. Your village. Our future.

Our Tiaki Tāne Men’s Group is on tonight, 6pm-8pm — come through and be part of your village. 🙌

Today marks exactly three years since Te Whare Tiaki, Rongomātāne Men’s Centre opened its doors.

But the truth is, this whare was built on the strength of our wāhine. For decades, it was the voices of our mothers, wives, partners, sisters, and daughters calling for a dedicated space where their husbands, partners, fathers, and sons could do the work. They saw the need, they raised the call, and under the guidance of our kaiwhakahaere, we stood it up.

We are here because they fought for us to have a place to heal and do the work. We don’t just open doors; we hold the space.

To the wāhine who paved the way: We hear you. To the men walking the path: We see you.

Respect to everyone who has walked through them, worked within them, and supported the kaupapa since day one.

Three years down. Many more to come.

We have our Men's group tonight from 6pm to 8:30pm, come through to connect!!
